So what? More of it was done by Cygnus than by Richard Stallman. I'd call it Cygnus/Linux long before I'd ever call it GNU/Linux

  2. Correction: Caldera's is a Beta, too... on Caldera/SuSE/Stampede Announce 2.2.x Based Distribution · · Score: 1

It's not like Caldera's is a RELEASE... and RedHat's beta also includes glibc 2.1 to get the most out of 2.2... does Caldera's??

  3. Lawyers serve a purpose... on Linux and Lawyers · · Score: 1

Lawyers protect you against the government, large corporations, and anyone else bigger than you. Lawyers have helped to give the little guy a chance. Albeit there are many many bad lawyers, the profession itself can be very noble if the lawyer isn't just out to screw over the little guy to make a buck.

  10. Don't buy Dell on Dell(?), HP shipping with Linux · · Score: 1

Why not? Dell and Micron are the ONLY prebuilt computers I would recommend to anyone. Their products are much more solid than anything else I have ever tried... everything works almost perfectly out of box, compared with bad experiences with many other vendors. I don't care what they think about Linux, good hardware is good hardware.

  11. Re: Announcement on Wine project moves forward! · · Score: 1

It still doesn't work, but at least with the new version, the splash screen and errror dialogs come up before it crashes , so its closer :)
