It's all point of view. There's plenty of Russians that think that annexing the Crimea was a just and caring move to guarantee the longer term safety of the people. Peace on Earth and goodwill to all Russian speaking minorities that love freedom etc..

If you think in terms of dynamic pressure on the craft in rising ballistic flight it makes more sense. The lower mach number occurs where the atmosphere is thicker and therefore dynamic pressure is greater. Atmospheric drag slows it. As the craft rises higher (assuming thrust remains constant) dynamic pressure eases in the thinner atmosphere and the mach number increases. The craft accelerates as drag decreases.

If the pilot was monitoring mach number as an analog for dynamic pressure then it makes sense.

G+ seemed a good idea at the very start. It seemed that you could fine-control the what, when, who and how of your information and I had no problems with Google pawing around in it for targetting ads.

It is now the most evil shit that you face daily. My daughter has removed every hidden tick from every hidden box she can find on G+, but every personal photo she takes on her Nexus 5 ends up straight away "shared". She has now stopped taking photos with it completely. Won't buy another. Iphone people don't complain about the same problem and Apple isn't exactly the Good Witch of the East.

If this guy was in charge of that shit then his bosses should also be flung through a window because they have deeply darkened Google's reputation. When it comes down to it Google has ridden high, hard and long on their "good" name. It's not Microsoft, Oracle and Apple that have tarnished Google, it's internal and maybe it already costs them billions. If not, it will.

What a load of crap. Simply moving dredge spoil from one place to another and under incredibly strict guidelines. The actual reef is 40 miles away from where this is happening and the local rivers spew far more "spoil" into the area every year from the rainy season. Stupid people believing the shit that comes from the WWF.

You have to pay for an exploration permit, spend massive amounts of money looking for oil, then spend billions more in drilling and exploitation. Quite a lot of that cost is in direct payments to governments at all levels for licensing, permits, impact assessments, regulatory compliance and now more than ever, public relations.

I just have a picture of old Wishbone in '49 climbing down off his mule and staking his claim. As he starts piling wash gravel, exercising his digging rights, Nelson Muntz walks past pointing "Ha Ha, subisidised bastard!"

Found a site that explains it thus:
"From the radian we get the mil, or mil-radian. This is another unit used to define angles. These are used by the military because an angle of n mils is n units wide at a distance of 1000 of the same units. So when viewed at 1000 metres a 3 metre long vehicle will appear to be 3 mils in length."

US Army - already secretly dealing it out in metric and keeping it classified.
