The whole idea behind this version of netscape is the commercial idea. AOL blows, i think we all know that. AOL wants to turn netscape into a big advertisment. Ive decided to stick with 4.76 until i see a better one than it. It hasn't crashed like it has on some people. I have 1 session thats been open for a week. No problems here.
KDE2's browser seems really appealing... That is, if the.gif extention would work with it.
Ive noticed that the windows version of Netscape installs all that AOL client message stuff. And that the email part has a big commercial that pops up when you use the email feature. Netscape went to shit when AOL bought it.
Maybe they should make you sign somthing that says "we can search you" every time you buy somthing there, or the 1st time you buy somthing there. Otherwise, they BETTER have a warrent, because im not being searched by ANYONE. Without a warrent its illegal.
Yes, i can judge IE because I have to use it at class (v5.5) and it stills screws up the machine (2000) when you get a bad java script, or somthing or another.
But you also have to think WHY people use IE.
Your average user is an idiot. They have NO
idea and don't want to bother dling a browser
when one is stuck in their OS, and you can't get
rid of it. The ONLY, and ONLY reason why you are
seeing those statistics is because of the monopoly
power. Is because billy boy stuck that thing in
his OS and called it a platform.
I think we should all go back, and look at the
number of win95 users, b4 M$ tried to monopolise
the browsers, and see how many of those 95 users
ran Netscape.
Im running Mozilla M18 on this machine. And to tell you the truth... The graphics on M18 bring out a noticable better quality than IE on the collage's machines. ( the themes on M18 kick major ass lotta options )
This is all a question of monopoly power rather than browser preference.
But yes, stop and ask WHY/HOW b4 the ANYthing is judged.

sites that are interesting by one OS using
group. M$ users.
Look at some of the Linux sites.

Well, they were dumb enough to get hacked twice in the first place. They probably have their backup, on tape or cd somewhere in a fireproof safe in their building| like i do. I usually keep my server's backup in my basement, so if disaster hits, Ill get a jackhammer, and get to my backup on DVD disk.:)
Sorry, but there was yet another big M$ bug released a couple days ago that the OS is vonerable to. I havn't seen a Linux bug seince the release of 2.2.16. 2.2.x has only really had 2 security bugs. Compared to the hundred and somthing effecting M$'s.
I just wonder if the person who made that article has ever seen Gnome, or KDE? OH YA KDE IS HARD TO USE, ITS MUCH HARDER THAN ANY OS. My mom uses KDE2 on a slack 7.1 box. She likes it better than her old 98 machine. Its been running a lot longer too, (84 days). Whats hard about KDE2?
I agree, as you can see, the specs on the Indrema make xbox look kinda bad. People will see the specs, and probably buy it over xbox. PS/2 doesn't offer much of anything. PS/2 would probably wind up like the 3DO and you would be playing the larger games as slow as x-mas. Im pretty sure
Indrema will put in a larger processor now if not later. 600mhz IS fast. And the 5-10 gigapixels is a lot better compared to xbox's 6. The marketing will be up to the consumer. If they wan't a fast machine, they get Indrema, if they want a slower one they get the xbox, if they want a slug they get the PS/2. + wouln't you like to work on your own games? it would be kinda cool. USB ports too!
