I totally hear that. I would be devastated if something happened to my cats.
I confess that I'm now a cat person. I wasn't 18 months ago. I liked cats more after living with my friend's ginger tom for a while, but still wasn't a cat lover per se.
Then last year I got two Maine Coons. Anyone who has a Maine Coon will understand when I say 'nuff said.
So lefties are lazy while conservatives are all workaholics?
I really resent this. In my view it is actually the other way around. People on the right don't want things to change because they don't want to adapt and put the effort into learning new things.
People on the left will always knuckle down and advance. That's probably why most university graduates are left leaning moderates. We don't fear that we will be left behind by change.
I always wondered that if all human knowledge/evidence was lost, books, video clips etc. (With one exception) and a handful of humans survived, with no prior knowledge of anything before themselves except a grasp of English, and these people were to find the only surviving books, a complete works of J. R. R. Tolkien, what the hell religion would be like then.
I think I'll have to wait for something with a bigger screen and a faster clock speed. You could argue that Taco is calling this apple product 'Lame'.:-)
I took up kitesurfing in the summer. I can attest to the enormous power a kite can yeild - far more than a sail of the same size. Most people kitesurfing use a kite around 10-12 metres long depending on their size and the wind conditions. When I was learning the ropes (sorry), I used a 3 metre kite on land. I am not a small chap. But that 3 metre kite picked me up as if I was hardly there and threw me around.
Power kites are quite hard to learn how to control properly. I think the leap in the technology here isn't the wind which, as you point out, has been done before, but the control systems to keep the kite in the air, stable and effective.
I still don't accept your premise that because I personally haven't tried it, I'm merely afraid of change. It takes a very special person to call someone they have never met a coward. I can think of four people close to me who use their pcs for identical things as I do and who ended up in a world of hurt because of driver or package upsets after installing vista. So, given the choice at point of sale, do I want vista or xp installed as the base (read: warranty) state for the pc I'm going to run my life from. I chose xp. I'm going to be running vista, vs2008 etc in a vm, but for the main boot it's a no-brainer.
Yes, I am being cautious. It could be considered reckless to install an OS like that on your primary machine after hearing so much anecdotal evidence from people you trust and who use their machines for very similar purposes. (Development and music production if you must know).
Some people on this tech site have battle scars from the bleeding edge.
That is very much your opinion.
I'll say amen to that!
"Our mis-implementation of Agile includes.." ..is a pretty good idea for a ThinkGeek t-shirt.
Sadly, the BBC decided not to get involved in these new episodes, so it's ended up on the "tiny" channel Dave
Technically they did as Dave is 50% owned by the BBC. That's why they get so many repeats from the BBC.

Best. Cats. Ever.
Ha!
That's preferable.
And lets be clear. The plural of computer mouse is most definitely not 'computer mouses'.
With the obvious point being, if learning to pass the test isn't good enough then the test must be wrong.
Smit happens.

No Gap Found Between Maths Abilities of Boy and Girls.
There, fixed for you.

Very long and rambling.

Yeah, but there's no point in being old and rich.

I WENT to UoW on exchange. I've never heard it called that. Anyway, isn't MIT the the MIT of the North?
Do you think he'd be willing to let telcos with their huge amounts of cash buy some hardware from him?
How kind for pointing this out.
Man.. how come you got all the karma? Bah... *grumble* :-)

Who said anything about losing data?
I'm talking about losing time.

Hands up, no I haven't tried it. However I know lots of people at work or friends who have.
I haven't tossed vista in the trashbin. I'm merely delaying my adoption of it until it's more stable.
I know some investment banks are still using windows 2000 as their only desktop, so at least I'm not as bad as them.
