Yes - I'm in the UK where series six has been out for a while. Not sure why it was released here before anywhere else. Maybe they did a study on how DVD sales affect TV viewing figures in the UK and visa versa. The Bartlett years box set includes series 6.
Isn't 99 cents too much to pay for music that appeals to just a few people?
It's probably the wrong way around. People are smarter than that. They know about marginal cost and that less commercial artists still have to eat. £2.00+ is the going rate for high bitrate mp3s from DJ download sites such as XpressBeats and DJ Download.
I did read the whole thing. Frankly your response was unnecessarily rude. I'd love to know what experience you have personally with the music industry apart from reading the NME or Kerrang.
Solution: Don't sign with one of those labels, or make sure your contract includes stipulations that your albums will not have copy protection.
Nice sentiment, but all your cards are max'd, your owe your mum thousands, you're eating fast food because that's all you can afford. Someone is offering to pay you to do what you'd do anyway and give you the chance to do it better. It would be hard to say no for most reasons. DRM will be decided by what the consumer shows they'll put up with.
I am yet to hear anyone come out for full DRM who isn't a millionare already tho.
For those not up on UK politics, this is significant because Gordo is second only to Tony Blair in the Government (no matter what Prescott thinks) and is seemingly the heir apparent as Prime Minister when Tony Blair resigns. (Which I will take bets on will be soon after he beat Thatcher's reign).
RIMMER: How are we fuel-wise? KRYTEN: Unchanged for today, sir. However, the supply situation grows
increasingly bleak. We've recycled the water so often, it's beginning
to taste like Dutch lager.
Indeed - this is close to slashdotter's hearts, but probably hasn't even registered at the patent office.
Think about how Josh Lyman would react to the news. Not everyone is aware of the intricate socio-political issues surrounding web interface application software. They've got other things to worry about such as patenting things.
What it actually prints out is "Ouch. Quit it!"

I love 'The West Wing'. In fact, I like it so much that I've got every single dvd box set (1-6). All purchased from Amazon.
So what did they recommend to me?
This. Yeah - great thanks.
Thats still half a million, the population of a medium sized city. I'd say thats a lot of displaced workers.
Just make sure you don't live there!
Same here. :-)
What is IS? It is IT.

I've been here for 5 years and I will never understand why people are this dull.

My comment still stands.

N.B. When *is* Slashdot going to start adding years to the timestamps?
I am not American.
However, if I were, I'd feel like saying. You don't like it? Don't use it. Build your own. You're very welcome to.
For the next few years at least, I think the status quo is the sensible way forward.
Thank $Deity for that.
As good as the gimp is, it can be nightmare finding tools when you start using it.

It sounds like something out of Puppet Masters.
