Grocery shopping online isn't a new concept. Netgrocer tried it ten years or more ago, and it never took off, unlike Amazon and Newegg.
That's because they did it wrong. Them and WebVan. Grocery Gateway started in 1997 and did it smart: they charged a delivery fee, had minimum order costs, and never promised something across town in 30 minutes. They've done rather well.
Until everyone and their brother bought a iphone, which tipped the overall market from being dominated by corporate to being dominated by hipsters buying iphone apps.
Yes, Hipsters. 37 million of them in Q1 of 2012. So many hipsters.
What? No they didn't. They made a huge play for the generic consumer market. Remember the Pearl? That was their biggest mistake: if they'd stuck to their core strength, the business market, they would have come through a lot better.
That and the PlayBook; what a farce. And their BB server software is crap.
What a load of bollocks. Those are the current RECORD temperatures, the low in 1938 and the high in 1998. In no way is EDM hitting those extremes on a yearly basis. -25 to 25 is a far closer range to what you'd expect over a 10 year average.
"Since then, there have been no wars among the major states of the world. War has been relegated to peripheral states (and, of course, wars within them). Nuclear weapons are the only peacekeeping weapons that the world has ever known. It would be strange for me to advocate for their abolition, as they have made wars all but impossible."
Fucking LOL. Typical academic. "Wars are impossible, as far as my own narrow definition of a war goes!"
I am happy, happy to socialize with Indian scientists and French scientists and Chinese scientists and American scientists and all the rest. I am not happy to give these same scientists access to my wallet while I sleep, or to my bed, or to my luggage (meager though it may be). They have no serious motivation to be a good room mate because they will likely never see me again. I refused to share my room with some total stranger and the guys in charge thought I was a complete nutter for it.
So you automatically assume that your fellow scientists want to steal your money and rummage through your luggage? Wow, paranoid and racist much?
Remember RIM's first big announcement around the PlayBook? "Here's something we're not going to build, not going to sell, but please pay attention to us and the real version will be here Real Soon Now(tm)".
That's where Apple has gotten it right for years: "Here's a thing, here's what it can do, here's how much it costs, here's the date you can buy one if it's not today. Oh, and you can go play with one in the lobby after."
Ballmer having some big show saying "Here's a thing. You can't buy it yet, we won't say how much it'll cost, and you can't actually play with it" is fucking pointless.
Calgary doesn't get humidity, even when it hits 30C during a heat wave, it's nice and dry. Far more pleasant than the humid mess we get near the Great Lakes. I didn't know anyone with AC when I lived there, I think all my dad did was have a fan running cool air from the basement through the heating ducts, and then leaving windows open at night to bring in the cool air.
Come to my city, There's a cop sitting in the alley just after a school zone in my neighbourhood regularly. I see people getting pulled over for going over the 40 kmh limit quite a bit.
Golly, having to take chances and actually grow as a person. It somehow takes work. Imagine that.

You ever try lifting a Concours 14?
Man, I loved Deus Ex.
whose ignitions locks were all pretty much the same key. Want someone else's bike? Use your own key and ride away!
Just because Vibram got the idea first doesn't mean they can charge $100 for $5 worth of materials.
Yes, yes it does. You really mustn't understand how markets work.
You also begin to find that there's very little that is really new under the Sun in most fields.
This is so very true. Which is why we're all moving to Win 7 at our place.
All that grey matter sitting on top of the lower parts of the brain is just a radiator then?
But that's the thing- voting DOESN'T "change the world". It doesn't do shit.
So why bother?
Say what? Of course it does. You're just too stupid and/or apathetic to realize it.

Ummm, these rooms smell like rainbows and Mila Kunis hugs!
I'll be right there!

Me either. The XP machines at work just instantly reboot when a crash happens :P
Steve used an IBM ThinkPad running NextStep. I'd hardly call that a "Windows machine."
"No-Kia?" Sounds Korean IMO.
Make sure to sprinkle some Gold Bond in your shoes, keeps them from getting smelly!

Nothing beats a summer prairie storm! :)
Like I told my last wife, I said "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes."
They'd have enough salt to last forever!
Good thing the electoral system was never set up to elect the President by popular vote.
Oh, wait...
