Heh:) I have 15 (now 25, I think?) Mbps cable through TekSavvy with no cap, running on Rogers' lines. I've heard good things about Shaw's cable offerings out West, but there's zero chance we'll get anything like that from Rogers in Ontario anyway.
No kidding. Back when classic Mac OS was around, it booted to a usable desktop faster than Windows did. So one of the big "improvements" for XP was to get the desktop open faster. Great, but it sure as hell wasn't usable for 20 to 60 seconds afterwards.
Heh, I learned AutoCad in the highschool drafting shop on a Heathkit Z80 PC. Later in 19th grade I sourced some superconducting material for a friends' Physics paper. Had no idea they only went OOB in 1991!
You still need to waste an hour to go to the post office and get it when there's nobody home to sign for the delivery. Compared to picking up a book at a Barnes & Noble store, it's more or less a wash.
Over here in civilization, it's a 10 minute walk to my nearest postal outlet to get packages, or I send them to my work address. An hour? Please.
