    im afraid thats utter bullshit, sir. defending yourself against someone elses claim is an important part of life itself. with that frame of mind, you are damned if you do, damned if you dont. :(

    as far as his life's work, well, in a monumental coincidence, once again he's damned both coming and going. no doubt his work is probably being used assist in the blowing up of shit in other countries. unless of course he programmed some sort of autoflush toilet system for the airforce. but even then im sure they'd find a way to use it to blow shit up. maybe even literally.

    i think the point is more along the lines of freebsd/etc is free if you have some old junker box lying around (like most of us seem to do), you just have to spend a little time LEARNING something... god forbid.

    disclaimer: i use a linksys pos router at home and yes, its gets the job done, but make no mistake, i only use it cuz im fucking lazy. :)

    effect, you do need to be prepared to distribute source to anyone who requests it

    and the source you provide HAS TO BE LICENSED UNDER THE GPL. thus, whomever you share the source with can legally distribute it freely on their own website (again, under terms of the gpl) and you can do nothing to stop them. thats why i love the gpl. :-D

    I doubt a video game where the goal was to hijack a plane and crash it into a building would be well-received even if the targets weren't police, so I don't think it's really a question of police being more valuable

    actually, thats the first thing I did when I got MS Flight Simulator, just to see what would happen. the point of the game wasnt to crash into buildings, but i made a conscious choice to do so and there was nothing to stop me... does that imply that I have any sort of terrorist intentions? (coincidentally, it was one of the towers i crashed it into... i feel kinda bad about it now but that was many years ago and im pretty sure there weren't any 'subcontractors' in the tower, if you get my drift...)
