    I use a personal MP3 player precisely because commercial FM radio sucks the sweat from a syphillitic donkey's testicles.

    That's only where Rob is at home.

    Over here in Europe there are plenty of fine FM radio stations for all tastes.
    And I find it almost essential to have a radio receiver included, after all it's rather simple technology.

    Read my post, I talk about road side eateries not 'regular' restaurants.
    Next time you're in the country try getting something at the airport or an 'Autogrill' type autostrada restaurant.

    However, I DO agree with your differentiation between the Italian Pizza and the American derivative.

    Sex is primarily for producing children, It has NO OTHER purpose.

    This should be moderated as freakish!
    There are more species, even primates like the Bonobo, that use sex as an active social tool.

    Humanities evolution would have been quite different without this social aspect.

    I would even go so far as to claim that many, if not most, wars were fought because a guy wanted to impress some dame (or her parents) with the power and riches resulting from victory.

    Women might go for gold or diamonds, men go for (sexually!) attractive women.

    Looking at recent huricanes one could say they are not becomming more frequent, but are becomming more powerfull .. one could argue that this could well be because the oceans are warming up, and warm water is the 'fuel' for a huricane, so a slightly warmer gulf of mexico directly equals stronger huricanes and more devistation.

    Come on, as an American you should know these Hurricanes are God's® revenge for that sinfull Democratic president y'all allowed to stay in the Whitehouse for 8 years!
    8 years, that's more than the punishments the biblical Egyptians had to suffer!
    Just wait till winter and them blizzards are going to hit them Democrats up north, you aint see nuthin' yet!

    Funny to mention these two in one sentence.

    Microsoft has been tightening down since the first DOS virus came around.
    And a whole industry sprung up based on their technology model of leaving holes.
    I think it is a dangerous thing when they are alowed to build their own anti-virus software.
    They should instead concentrate on fixing the holes.

    Microsoft would have an advantage that is unfair by definition.

    Anyway, does the author mean to say Google would rather not be protected by the Washington government of the day?

    Personally I find commercial interests should be banned to get involved in politics at any level, in a democracy they don't have voting rights so it's none of their business.

    The Computer Misuse Act (1990) is an appalling piece of shoddy law - speaking as an IT professional who's actually had to read it. The only thing it's good for is threatening users.

    At least it's just limited to this half-submerged mountain range in the eastern Atlantic.
    So I only have to feel sorry for my pale-faced red-thatched friends. :)

    10k gold is as low as you can go and still call it "gold".

    I do know of jewelery sold in the UK as "9k gold", but then they have more funny units :)

    Hmm, never knew the US had such a low appreciation of the value of the word 'Gold'.

    Here in The Netherlands the arithmetic is a bit simpler, 50% is the minimum content of anything to keep it's name.
    So for us Gold can never be less than 12k.

    Absolutely true, higher Voltage = less Amperage = less heat by current. (For the same power)
    Another matter that is not being mentioned except sideways is the magnetic efficiency of the metal core of the transformer.
    The 'sideways' part is that a heavier transformer is by many posters seen as a better transformer.
    The amount of core material is a major factor for the efficiency plus it is likely the largest contributor to the weight.

    Any inefficiency is primarily transformed into heat.

    why would you use something so heavy? why is the car so far off the ground? Why would you spend so much money on X if you can do it with anohter cheaper material? Basically he saw alot of noobish ideas, isn't this built by university students who are supervised by a prof?

    These cars are as light as possible, even the drivers are selected for size and weight.
    The cars are so far off the ground for good reasons, the main one is less drag. The wheels/tires are selected for the least resistance, the shape is with as little frontal area as feasable. But maybe your friend saw real (and poor) amateurs instead of these professionals with important sponsors.

    Have a look at the various websites of the teams, that'll show you what is needed to be competetive.

    24K = 100%, 10k would be When you're lucky the majority of 58% is Silver, with less luck it's Copper...
