To haul all those coffee grounds around? Could we get an adjusted number instead of that "340 Million Gallons"? It doesn't all smell like cake from where I sit.
Yes, you are right. As a casual reader of slashdot I sometimes forget to consider the source when getting outraged about the comments. Ha. Thanks for shedding light on this one.
Nevermind the fact that even "today's Microsoft" is making tons and tons of cash every single day, and Apple has never opened up anything, ever. Why opensource at all, when closed source has always made them more money? As a matter of fact, the closed nature of the iPod is singlehandedly what brought Apple off the brink of bankruptcy. I really don't understand why opensource wonks always think in absolutes and want to opensource everything. Are you guys supposed to be more smart or something?
OK so it's not really free, but if you think about it all that "free money" requires is an ISP, a nigerian bank account, plus the forged documents from government officials. It might cost like $100 USD, but when the payoff is this big, it's kinda worth it.
This is what happens after more than a decade of conservative majority rule in a puritanical country. Republicans use the term "kiddie porn" the way they accuse Democrats of using "mother's health"; as an all-purpose phrase to get across any evil legislation they want.
You make good points on other types of people that could play MMORPGs on a console, but my point about this is really that the people you point out will, all added up, be less than 5% of the total population on MMORPGs on consoles. On PCs it might be more like 10%, but never on a console.
1.) "Hardcore" gamers -- primarily 14 year old homophobic racists 2.) Adult gamers -- 30-something PS3 owners who play after work and on weekends 3.) "Casual" gamers -- mainly Wiinies, young kids, women, senior citizens
Out of these, the only ones serious enough about gaming to put the time and energy into grinding would be the "hardcore" gamers. Great just what we need, MORE unsupervised kids running around in a persistent virtual environment yelling racial homophobic epithets while teabagging every other player they just teamkilled on a quest. This should make Sony lots of money!
Yet another sign of just how out-of-touch Sony is with its consumers.
Let's get one thing straight: the only revoked his right to practice law and tie up the courts with harrassment lawsuits. His right to be a loudmouthed ignorant unenlightened a-hole is still intact. Trust me, you will see his name again, probably as the founder of a non-profit against electronic media.
With my Sony TV, the PS3 and my alarmingly fun and useful PSP, I've slowly become BORG. In fact, because of that stupid PSP that I love so much I even did the unthinkable and purchased some putrid memory sticks. Oh how I've come to loathe myself... but at least I can do that loathing while watching the Big Lebowski or Trading Places on my PSP (legally owned and transcoded, naturally).
When the Supreme Court won't even do anything about medical malpractice damages limits, in a case like this where RIAA lobbyists have "relations" with senators and congressmen all over the place, the Supreme Court will *never* do anything to help out the average consumer.
Yep, this is the final straw that will finally push OpenOffice to ubiquity over Microsoft. Just like the "ribbon" fiasco was the last straw. Or the new file specifications with every new version of MS Office. Yep, this one really is the last straw. In related news, did anyone hear that Osama is dying of kidney disease?
Does this mean that the iPod Touch will be $99 and $199 for 8GB and 16GB? It's been stated by El Jobso before that the price points would be $100 less than the comparable iPhone capacity.

That's the only time they seem to care what people think about the cases they hear and decide.
In the land of Vikings, they're used to the former, but the socialist government will never tolerate the latter.

Imagine that, we could power the universe!
TWENTY-SECOND POST BEEEEYOTCHES!!!!
Why doesn't that have quite the same ring to it?
P.S. I copyright that 22nd post thing!

Consoles appeal to:

2.) Adult gamers -- 30-something PS3 owners who play after work and on weekends
3.) "Casual" gamers -- mainly Wiinies, young kids, women, senior citizens

But ninjas would and they'd blame it on pirates.
Pirates>ninjas
This has been submitted many times. Must be a slow news day for this to finally make it over the transom.
Amen, so let's stop discussing this jerk!

Where in the world are you getting 24MBPS over ADSL? Please let me know which provider and how much so I can sign up right now!
And in this case, there are tons of temporary fixes all over the Internets.

No message here.

And just in case you thought I was making that up...

... when you do this in front of other people because of a lost remote, now you lose face as well.
Fairy dust is the new future.
