Same here, and now I'm using Konqueror as my primary web browser. Why? I originally started using Linux because it crashes less than Windows. Konqueror still crashes sometimes, about as much as IE 5 or Netscape 4.x do. But, when Konqueror dies it only kills that individual window, not all windows, mail, etc, like Netscape, and it can't take the whole OS down, like IE can. I haven't really looked at the code but it seems to be running an independent process for each window, which would be bad except I have a lot of ram (176 MB) and it's worth it to not have to restart everything on my computer just because of some bad Javascript.

Rush has a lot of beliefs that I find ridiculous, but that doesn't mean a lot of people don't still agree with him. Maybe this problem is already fixing itself, but if not now we can concentrate on the volcanoes and not add to the problem ourselves.

With all of the different partition types (when I installed Mandrake 7.2 there were several hundred listed) any choice Phoenix made would have probably broken some OS. The BIOS in my Compaq Presario seems to have some problems detecting new PCI hardware, but this is because it was designed for Win95c. Compaq still supports Linux, open source, and other Unixes on other hardware but they built the Presario series for Windows software only, so if you want an IBM laptop that supports BSD, buy a model that IBM designed to work with other operating systems besides Windows.

I think some of the pictographs are also used in Korean. But it seems stupid to use the same unicodes since this would make a translator like babelfish get messed up using characters from the wrong language, and could cause a fight between companies with the same names in kanji but different trademarks in english letters.

It seems like a lot of researchers think that an external camera wired to the brain would be better, maybe because they think it would reduce encapsulation or require less surgery, but I think that having a modular device that only replaced the retina and did not have external parts would be more durable.
