  2. You've kind of missed the point entirely, most of the people who pirate games can't afford to buy all of the games they pirate, so they never would have bought all the games they pirated.

    Thats the problem. Times have changed. Not all but some. Nobody buys *any* games nowadays. I know far too many people who bought an NDS and a copier for the *sole* purpose of pirating everything. Same goes for Xbox360.

    Not true. I design billon+ hit/month systems, I assure you they are never a single server, and that basic apache tuning won't cut it. It gets much trickier now that pages are not just HTML with images linked. Dynamic content creation is very CPU and (often more so) memory dependant

    You have some *really* dirty power or wicked heat issues. In the last... I dunno 12 personal computers I've built? I've lost a single CPU (AMD XP) and no GPUs... Those failure rates are way WAY *WAY* above industry standard. I used to build servers for example, and in 100 dual-socket units we might lose a single CPU over 3 years and usually it was flakey from the get go.

    First off it has 32MB not 64MB... 32MB isn't much for 'hacking' around with. 32MB is nearly useless. Unless your breed of 'hacking' around is guaranteed to be limited to a few very simple apps running at the shell, 32MB is going to be an issue. Wouldn't try using any of these modern interpreted languages with their bloaty runtimes, thats for sure.

    Thats likely because you run Windows. Those of us who don't, see Flash suck. Flash sucks on my c2d, is fine on my i7. The fact that it takes an i7 to play back 720p (let alone 1080p) video properly via Flash goes to how poor the non windows implementations are...

    pretty 3D games on the iPhone are mostly horribly sluggish. Not very impressive. The iPad is better, but not amazingly so.
