    I believe the highest measured straight line speed in a Formula 1 car was by Jean Alesi at Monza in 2001 -- 359.4 km/h ~ 223.3 mph

    May be outdated, though.

    Even Germans can't stand him. I once went to Germany and visited a friend I met at this newsgroup -- it was 2000, and he was rooting for Mika Häkkinen against Schumacher. Amazing!

    Coulthard is IMHO more aggressive than Prost and Ralf. He's sulking this year because the car sucks and he knows his career is coming to an end.

    He had many admirable tussles with Schumacher in past years. Remember The Finger?

    Me, I like the new mode a lot. It has a Windows 98 feel, very lean, no-frills.

    Really. You do business with an ISP owner who likes to talks about politics. All of a sudden, he becomes REAL quiet and looks scared all the time. D'oh.

    The sad thing is, people will figure out who he is despite his best efforts, and the government WILL blame him.

    Just for curiosity, Brazil is the 5th largest population, but Indonesia's (and Pakistan's) grows faster and the USA's is still very ahead.

    Many people here have similar opinions, but let me add to that: start with a packaged distro and uninstall/compile what you believe is critical (Samba for the file server, Apache & PHP & MySQL for the web server, etc).

    In all of them, recompile the kernel. Tune it to the server's particular hardware with loving care. And make lots of backups of the resulting .config files. You won't regret it.

    For desktops, I recomend abject submission to a package and upgrading mechanism (Fedora and Tao, for instance, go well with yum. For Debianish distros, plain old apt). Choose repositories as if you are amending the USA Constitution.
