If you don't like it, let them know and take your money somewhere else. If you're not paying for it, then you don't have anything to complain about.
Except you don't really have a choice if you happen to get your dsl or dialup from one of the many ISP's that are teamed up with yahoo for the email and webcontent.
I highly doubt you'll be able to recoup more money than you spend. If you can, then everyone will do it, and prices will go down for that type of currency.
It's relatively easy to make more money than you spending subscription fees for a MMORPG, the problem is the time involved. If you paid yourself a reasonable wage for playing the game, you couldn't come close to making more money than you invested.
Of course it's possible read Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.. of course eventually a mechanic and a self-aware computer will overthrow the gov't, but that isn't that big of a deal.
people always knock the for dummies books, but I've found a lot of them to be good informative introductions to subjects. Sure a for dummies book isn't going to totally cover a topic, but it will give you enough of an introduction to be able to understand a more thorough book better or to persue some internet based learning on your own.
It would seem like the RIAA using data collected from file sharing systems to do something other than sue filesharer's would have some kind of legal implication.. giving tacit approval for filesharing, etc.
I love how tech jobs always expect several years of experience using internal applications that are specific to that company. Stupid HR depts are mostly to blame.
Fat32 works just fine for mac and win32. Once you hook it up to a mac, you'll get a bunch of crap files littered all over the place that alledgedly make it easier for the mac to use it, but it doesn't affect windows functionality at all. That's why zip disks are almost always pc formated, you can go back and forth between pc and mac with no problems, but if you have a mac formated disc, its worthless unless you have a mac.
They don't. They care about money. Just like every other company. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a lyer.
I'm just amazed at all of the disillusioned mac fanatics that are just now realizing that steve jobs and co really really don't give a damn about them.
It's not a one-speaker system if it contains 5 or 6 speakers in one box. That is a 5 or 6 speaker system. I fail to see why people are excited over this, it's just 5 speakers in one box with the individual speakers aim different directions to achieve the surround sound effect.
Another thumbs down from Eugenia Loli-Queru. This from the person who gave a sorta-review of Suse based on screen shots. Give me a break. Sorry for the flames but I stopped reading OSNews long ago because of her half assed ramblings. Let Ars or something get ahold of Fedora and then I'll know Im getting a well thought out review... good or bad. Next...
Be careful what you say about eugenia, she will hunt you down and harass you via email and IM and any other means she can find if you disagree with her.. take it someone that has had it happen.
If you can't walk someone through typing http://myrouter in their address bar and clicking the "install updates" option, you probably weren't a very good support tech.

actually, i would argue the linux and mac users are generally 'safe' from most viruses is because their systems are designed more securely and with moreprecautions than windows.
You could argue that, but you'd just be trolling for karma. If the use percantages were reversed, there'd be just as many mac and *nix problems.
Example: Alice in Wonderland is in the public domain. Peter Zelchenko made an ebook out of it with nice typography and claims copyright on the derived work. Can I cut the text & paste it into a document of mine?
Yes, that's most likely how Peter Zelchenko got the text to begin his nice typography project. Since the work is in pd, he can't claim copyright on that, only on the presentation. Much like suse cd images are copyright so you shouldn't just copy them for other people, but all of the software is free in some form or another.
"EverQuest players are a natural target audience that can't be ignored, but Sony obviously doesn't want players canceling their accounts to migrate to the sequel"
Then maybe they should have considered possible Not calling it Everquest 2.. I'm just throwing out ideas here, but if you don't want people leaving everquest for the sequel, don't bill it as a sequel, bill it as a new game.
Is it just me, or does plone (minus the tabs) look like just about every other opensource CMS site around? It seems like eventually a new design would break the CMS mold and not go for the choices on the sides, content down the middle look.
(hell, if you catch them in the act, you have the right to shoot them dead in most states, and rightly so).

BBCode doesn't work here.. sorry.
Since one is an OS and the other is An Open-Source Digital Repository Management System .. I don't really see the conflict.

Because I2 wasn't fast enough requiring that everyone on it be in relative proximity to a gigapop.

I hate Mac zealots. Period. And damn near every Mac user seems to be a diehard zealot.
Luckily, there numbers are fewer than linux zealots or they might cause a problem..
Quit thinking that Apple cares about you.

Haven't limo's had satellite tv for a long time? isn't that what those boomerang shaped things on the back are?
That's only true if everyone ran Mac and *nix as root all the time, which is how Windows works by default.
It's apparently been years since you used windows. Nice try though.

1) I pity the poor Level 1 techs at Belken who are going to have to walk all the Mom & Pop users through flashing the firmware.
To flash the firmware on most routers, you just login to some web interface and click the "update firmware" option.

Like Avon's skin-so-soft, for instance. You know, the mosquito repellant?
Exactly, I know several people who swear that sss is the best mosquito repellant made.
With the possible exception of Plone (just heard of it today) all of the other people involved, would have been going to comdex already..
