    Yup, this is exactly what I do. I'm with Be (now part of Sky) and I get a static IP address for £20 pm. The BeBox (router) has all the capabilities for port forwarding although I found the interface to be dumbed down for firewall configuration which actually made it harder to set up for me :) Been running a CentOS server for all sorts of things for 5 years with no hassles from the ISP.

  12. And I want an ice cream. Doesn't mean it's going to happen any time soon. I suppose it's possible I'll see men on the moon in my lifetime, but I sort of doubt they'll be flying a US flag. Probably Chinese if I had to guess. And I don't think anyone will ever be going to Mars. Or if we do, it'll cost an obscene amount of money, probably fail on the first attempt, people will die and the public will lose their desire to see it happen. Depressing really.

    Yup, I'm running tt-rss off my own home server now with the Android app. It's obviously a little slower than Reader as I don't have a data centre in my loft, but it works well enough. I just imported my Reader subscriptions and job done. Plus the NSA can't read it! :D

    That's why I use Calibre + plugin to strip out the DRM from Amazon e-books. Then I can lend them to whomever I like!

    Exactly, the early nineties were the golden age of PC gaming. There was a huge amount of quality titles on PC, not just Doom. GP clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.
