  1. Gas prices on What Does the Future Hold for Low Emission Vehicles? · · Score: 1

Even at $1.60/gal gas is still cheap here in the US. Until gas prices get really bad there is not going to be a big push for alt fuel cars.

And on diminishing natural resources... we will never run out of oil... of course that last barrel is goning to cost a few trillion dollars... but we won't run out.

Each transponder can send about 32Mbps. Now I don't know how many are up there but I do recall that there was some concern about how much bandwidth HDTV was going to eat up. And now you have to add broadband internet access.
I think we are going to need a few more satellites.

I wonder what has better latnecy the new 3G phones or this satellite setup.

I love how lawyers do this... equating shootings to something like this case.
"LiVid is dedicated to the idea that all computer source code should be "open," even if that means stealing and disseminating protected intellectual property."

Stealing?? Was something stolen? Is something missing from DVD CCA's building?
"At the time Pavlovich posted DeCSS on the Internet, he knew that DeCSS facilitates the pirating of DVDs (Pavlovich Aug. Depo., pp. 59- 2 60); "

Are they still pushing this DeCSS = priate tool?

Someone should trade mark "Open Source" and sue these guys for defamation of mark.

I guess I'll have to get it online at cuecat.com

And if it is shooting in auto mode who is at fault? The programer? The owner of the machine?
Can't wait for the legal fun this is going to cause.

DVD is 480 x 704 and a mpeg2 compressed movie takes up 4-8 gigs. To record HDTV we are going to need a Tivo like box but with a much larger drive. I'm sure when that type of tech become cheaper we will have recordable HDTV
