  1. Don't be foolishly reactionary.

Just imagine you roll up on a scene where there is an armed and dangerous person. How likely are you to be thinking about turning on your camera and ensuring it's working before you're dealing with the problem?

This is the problem. It shouldn't be 'oh better record this' or 'shit shoulda recorded that' they should have enough memory to be switched on when their shift starts and switched off when it ends. The sd card or whatever gets handed in and filed for a week or so, if anything of note happened or any complaints are made the footage can be looked at whatever steps taken. Basically the way a lot of cctv systems work. Yeah they'll probably still delete or tamper with them after the fact unless they make them get backed up and remotely stored some place but that's getting off the point. They should be always on and record everything the officer does on duty otherwise its a hollow gesture that is only going to be used by the people its not meant to catch.

  2. If a cop "forgets" to turn his camera on and shoots some one then the victim (if surviving) gets to shoot the cop, if they are dead a family member gets to do it. Or just sack them if they don't turn it on but that's never going to happen in the blue boys club.

The thing that pisses me off the most though is people who use replacement swear words as if its perfectly fine. Ok so you said for bucks sake instead of for fucks sake. It means the exact same fucking thing idiot and even if you change a letter or two you're still basically swearing. (don't know if you do this, it's just a general gripe)

I know what you mean, my idea to let me work from home for double the pay and half the work load didn't go down very well, I thought it was a good idea at least.

  20. Ha ha ha ha ha, fuck off, asshole. For the record, a great many of us have been using Slashdot since year zero, before you. Yet we never felt the need to make a name for ourselves. You are a narcissistic asshole that only registered a username because you want some sense of self-gratification. Since registering a username does not require verifiable credentials and is open to everyone, that fact that you DID so means nothing. Really, truly, it means nothing. So, if you're unhappy about a response, attack the substance, not the sender.

Fuck that, put a name next to what you say and own it, otherwise you may as well be shouting into the void. What's the point of talking to AC's when there's no way to tell if you're engaging with one person or ten?

Maybe not the underlying issues but take away the guns and you have a lot less people getting shot and killed. The guy might have still been assaulted but it's a lot harder to actually kill someone with your hands or a knife. It's ridiculous to say taking away the guns won't change anything, because it will.

You should be able to get it repaired by anyone with the skills and tools.
