If W was duped, then so were the British, the Germans, the French the Russians, the entire Security Council, Japan... the Congress (who coted to go to war before Powell spoke at the UN...)
It's a LIE to say Bush lied. It just isn't that simple.
What? Bush lied? What did he lie about? Remember that Clinton had seen the same intel. and agreed with Bush. Furthermore, even the UN security council new Saddam had WMD... So, a sitting president, in a pre 9-11 world, is handed intl. that a regime like Saddam's is funding terror AND refusing to catalog it's weapons. A regime hostel to the US. Does the sitting president take action to protect America, or does he do nothing and hope for the best?
As far are respect from the international community, we didn't have much to begin with. And in the end, America's safety is so much more important.
Did anyone else catch Penn & Tellers show on Showtime regarding the Recycling industry and how bad recycling is for the environment? As someone who knows people who used to work in the paper recycling business, DON'T RECYCLE YOUR PAPER!!!
Funny, I didn't mean it as an "ad hominem" but I can see how some would take it that way. I'm sorry.
I wasn't trying to attack your qualifications either. It's just that liberal arts students are are the type of people that believe Union (among other things) have any use today. I grantee you that the Business colleges don't teach this.
But because you asked, I studied CIS at Cal Poly Pomona, here in CA. I'm a NASA certified UNIX system administrator. I work at JPL here in Pasadena.
Anyone remember Adventure Thru Inner Space, sponsored by Monsanto at Disneyland! Dang, I loved that ride. I was probably about 7 the last time I was able to ride it and I remember being amazed. The queing area was set up to look like people entering the ride were being shrunk by a large machine of some type... There is a guy who is trying to recreate the ride in CG. What he has done so far is pretty damn interesting (if you a Disney fanatic)...
Here in Pasadena, many people who live the in the homes surrounding the Rose Bowl will sell your wireless connections during an event that are easily available near the parking lots. The connections go anywhere from $100 to as low as $10 for an IP. It can be very handy!
Personally, I use my cell/Palm-PDA to surf when I'm away from home/work. I love my Samsung i500!!!!
Generally, die-hard capitalists like myself, hate unions because they hinder competition in the work force. America did not become the strongest nation relatively overnight by utilizing socialist economic policy. Competition is **EVERYTHING** in a capitalist economy.
Whats with the awful web design. It's like they are trying to suck...
Trial Lawyers.
We need tort reform desperately!
I was under the impressoin that there were more Linux desktops out there than Macs. Anyone know of a good site to get rough number?
Not quite on topic, but fun! Here is a site that has compiled a list of video games seen in various Simpson episodes... Some of my favorites are:
Robert Goulet Destroyer (Noiseland)
Angus Pogordny's Caber Toss (Try-N-Save)
Kick the Can (80's arcade)

When you were offered the free adjustment you should have turned tail and ran, and I mean RUN!
It's amazing to me that it's 2004 and people STILL go to chiropractors.
One weak aspect I find in the blogs I like to visit is they almost all have poor, clunky comment sections. Take littlegreenfoorballs.com for example.
I'm my opinion, the slashdot comment area is very clunky and would love it they ditch their code for a modern PHP/SQL forum...
I have one word for you... And they are the same thugs that have removed the seesaws and merry-go-rounds from my childhood park.
Lawyers.
Some say the "Right" is trying to take you rights away. I say it ain't that simple...

Newbie politics are so tedious...
Ignorant? You mean the French LIKE Bush? Thanks for setting me straight. :)

The only reason this "movie" did so well in France is because the French HATE Bush.

Penn & Teller: Recycling is Garbage!
Are you haveing a bad day, or are you a Mac user?

You sound like a Liberal Arts student...
It's too often that people let school interfere with their education.
Whats a Mac OS X?
Ok, you sould like a college student. Do you mind if I ask where you go?

One should never doubt real world experiences.
But yes, there are unions that are less harmful. I have a few friends that are are with Teamsters. All they ever do is collect union dues...
Unions sound good on paper, but in the real world, they are a hindrance to competition. You may say they are a necessary evil. I disagree.
Watch this SBC strike carefully...
Thats the typical college definition. But not the way it works in the real world.

"Almost entirely not" responsible is not too different from "partly responsible" :)
Yes, obviously unions are only party responsible...
I think what the original post meant was that Unions are partly responsible
for forcing most of the factory jobs overseas (and they have).
Social labor laws in general, or labor laws that unfairly protect the employee
*more* then the employer are extremal detrimental to an economy.
