Conservatives are supposed to support personal choice/freedom... they just don't believe this applies to drugs/sex/abortion because they're usually really dumb people.     Killing the Coca plants is silly and just as deranged as the 'war on drugs'. It's as deluded as when the Americans drop paraquat on harmless pot plants. Methamphetimine and Methcathinone would just jump in to fill the void that the dead coca plants left behind.

    Look at the movies people watched in the forties to the sixties.. non-stop gunfight westerns and gut-stabbing marine movies. Kids played gun games more when I was a kid than they did when the columbine generation were the same age. I guess the only thing that leaves is the sex.. and ya your right I enjoy it to much to believe it's harmful.

It really is Pacman's fault; not the fault of a system that turns a blind eye to bullying and thousand of depressed kids commiting suicide because they got stuck at the bottom of the HS pecking order. Damn Pacman, if only we could turn back the clock.. No one ever shot up their classes when all we had was pong.

    I agree whole heartedly. Funnily enough one of the radio stations up here in .ca had a call in show discussing the benefits putting web accessable cameras throughout the schools and in the classrooms. Almost all parents and students were for it.. strangely idiot teachers kept calling in and saying that it wouldn't be fair. Their motivations are pretty transparent; In fact I remember watching a teacher once peek around the corner at three joco-aholes beating up on a 'geek', waiting until they left and then asking this kid why he didn't stick up for himself in front of us. Also, I can't count the number of times I can remember teachers hitting kids.

    I hope someone mod's you up one for that comeback. I know what the A stands for, and yes there are many useful 'Space' applications that rely on the 'Aeronautics' side of things; I agree. Like I said.. if it's being developed to make space more accessible, that's fine by me.

    How do you think an 'air' sucking scramjet will make space cheap. Like I said maybe it will be useful for launching things into space.. but getting things around once they're in space and building things off planet should be where they focus.

    I really think NASA should focus on the 'S' and stick with space exploration. An air sucking hypermach jet that can get around the world in little time sounds like a usefull delivery platform for weapons of mass destruction and not much else. I suppose they could use it as a launch platform to get things into space but doubt that's why they are spending billions on it. We really do need to start getting our butt in gear and getting off the planet.. 2001 is almost behind us and their still aren't any PAN AM destinations in our solar system.

    Yes most governments are intrinsically Nationalistic.. it's pretty much how they are defined. I do not see why it should come as a shock that we haven't reached a point where governments will stop posturing and beating their chests. Until there are no governments or nations they will always act that way.
    I for one would love a Utopic Anarchy but realize that until a lot of things change some asshole goverment will fill the void where the previous one existed.. and billions of backwards morons all over the world will still cling to their lame identification with their Nation, Religion, Race or other dumbass self imposed limitations.
    Hell, most of the worlds population doesn't have net access let alone a computer; so the digital world breaking down national bounderies is going to be a long time coming.
    The outlook is bleak, most people are stupid, spiteful, hateful, prejudicial assholes. If some dumb global conflict doesn't erupt in this century.. you can bet your bottom dollar one will come along in the next or the one after that.

    Also - I am dumb and do not understand your constant usage of the word hyperreal. Do you mean more real than real? Excessively real perhaps? What is the point? Is that something you ripped off Chomsky or something?

    Nakednews.com has been using interuption commercials from the get go.. it's certainly not new to the net. I heard they're going to offer pay-subscriptions for those who want commercial-free. Similar to the slashdot article a few days ago about paying for a banner free site. I wonder if 'Millionaire' will offer the same? Also it seems a dumb show to port, I'm surprised they wouldn't offer something a tad more 'geek' like robot/junkyard wars, etc.

    I think you got it backwards. I've always found that the folks who have options and are wanted by other companies are the first to bail if they dislike the new corp. The first wave of deserters also tend to pull away the others who have talent. The less than mediocre ones who stay are usually the ones who are just thankful they still have a job and aren't worth much to anyone else anyways.
    Also, I'm pretty sure if you asked your "PR Rat" friends what synergy actually means they'll just stare at you like you rubbed their nose in shaving cream; I doubt they'll will start quoting Buckminster Fuller. It's hardly worth mentioning what they mean; it's just a word they use as fashion accessory.

    Maybe they'll be smart enough to host it offshore for round 2.
    Many @homeish service providers here would cut you off if they found you MASQing a bunch of PC's by reason of sheer ignorance if nothing else. They will also add charges for each PC - and use the same stupid bandwidth illogic. Hell many standard service agreements here say they can cut you for running a server.. For my mouth shall speak truth and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
