This is patentable because it is a method of doing this action, not the action itself. This is what patents deal with. Specific implementations of how to accomplish a goal. Not the goal itself. Part of the reason the patent system is broken is there is a huge misconception among people about what a patent is and isn't. The headlines don't help because they sum what is being patented into a goal rather than the means.

Ronin was massively fleshed out. Satida and his fellow kinsmen appeared in numerous episodes including flash backs. His character is different in many different ways, when his wife is still with him before he was a runner. His hatred for the wraith is with a passion that no one else in the show can rival. I don't think you truly understand what a fleshed out literary character means.

Your opinion on the show is understood, but your reasons for having it are misguided and not well thought out, imho

They cover the time travel wormhole physics in the final SG movie. You can't just rewrite the time line because the people in alternate time lines are separate people. The original stranded time line of SGU would still be stranded. Ronin and Teal'c are nothing alike. The back stories are richly different. Almost every character in the show had depth and development through out the entire season.

I don't think you truely understand what makes characters flat or developed. Cliche Ronin may have been, but cliche's are a powerful literary tool and carry much weight with them.

The media it is stored on doesn't mean anything to the information itself. Backing it up on a home server or a cloud service are my recommended practices. No where did I say that backing up isn't a good idea. I only say that removable media is a volatile approach to backing up and subscription services aren't worth the money since there are free alternatives.

Also, did I mention this kid is a kid? You don't berate someone inexperienced for not knowing best practices. You encourage them to learn from those mistakes. Backing data up doesn't occur to most people, let alone a teenager on facebook, as being important.

Nobody thinks "i need to back this file up" just as people wouldn't think they need multiple copies of important paper documents. Myself, I use Google Docs to back up personal documents. This is something I picked up from years of experience. In no way is practices like this considered common knowledge. Give the kid a break.

You're missing his point. Frank doesn't care about higher quality experiences for gamers. He wants them playing games for more than 25 hours so that micro payments and subscription fee's are harvested. ACB will probably end up making more money than AC2, despite it being a lesser product. Less development effort combined with more revenue streams is the way of the future is essentially the point here. Of course studio heads would agree with him. They are business men just as well.

The algorithm doesn't only count links. It looks for keywords across lots of similar pages. In this case, people were talking about brand name products quite a bit. If you searched for this company directly, all of the fraudulent behaviors were apparent. The review sites were all over the place in the results. If you searched for a brand name product; since there was much discussion regarding his site and those products, link provided or not; those key word combinations would be favored and his site would rank higher if you searched for the brand names. This was the keyword ranking vulnerability he exploited. He was suckering people who never heard of his business yet. It was very very schemy. If Google has bias towards these kind of merchants, then they have done no wrong. The entire reason they're used by everyone is because this has been, is and always will be how they develop their algorithm.

Google has specified guidelines that webmasters should follow if they want to be ranked. If a vendor wishes to do business by means of pagerank on google, then they must follow those rules. If they don't want to do that, there are other models that they can pursue.
