    As a server there is nothing wrong with FreeBSD.

    As a desktop, I dunno.

    FreeBSD does not run as many apps, and especially does not run the most recent versions.

    FreeBSD has no dropbox client. I don't think FreeBSD with work with LibreOffice 5.x - you have to go back to LibreOffice 4.x.

    I am not sure about the future of BSDs. I think the BSDs are dependant on apps that were built for Linux. The BSDs use a Linux compatibility layer. So if Linux apps start requiring systemd (a real possibility IMO) the the situation for desktop apps might get even worse.

    I find it slower than FreeBSD. It does not do anything you cannot do with FreeBSD. Also, I prefer the MATE desktop.

    I suppose setting up FreeBSD desktop takes more work. But real UNIX people should not be afraid of that.

    Lots to love about FreeBSD. Makes a great server.

    But I doubt it has a dropbox client, and I doubt it will work with LibreOffice 5.x.

    XP may not be getting updates, but it is not getting targeted either.

    I am seeing most attacks targetting Windows 7.x - 10.x.

    Back up your data, if XP is hit with malware, scrub your system and reinstall.

    Windows systems newer than XP are not especially safe either.

    In the UK, you can leave to join ISIS, then come back to the country. At least that is my understanding.

    Muslim commit terror attacks on other Muslims even more than they do non-Muslims.

    I think you can only run old versions of chrome on FreeBSD.

    I don't think LaunchD is about to be used in FreeBSD.

    Upstart is just an init system. SystemD radically changes everything about Linux.

    Everything that is great about systemd, is even better in ms-windows.

    Want an OS that is controlled by a single for-profit corporation? A corporation that cares more about it's shareholders, than end users.

    Want everything hidden from the users? Everything in binary.

    Want an OS that has all kinds of mystery crap going on in the background?

    Want a less stable OS, and mysterious changes forced on you all the time?

    Want an OS designed by people who hate the UNIX philosophy, and have deep contempt for UNIX grey beards?

    MS-Windows has better drivers, better graphics, way more apps - especially games. MS-Windows apps are way more standard.

    Actually he said that systemd may be inevitable for Slackware.
