Yes! Broadband is coming. I'll line my house up. Although my cable company signed a 10 year deal with the local gov't and they don't even know about the internet. My phone company is Verizon. They seem to hate broadband. Satelite? Ping times are atrocious. Wireless? I contacted a wireless company about prices a year ago, I have yet to hear back from them.
It's not like I live waaaay out in the boonies. I'm 10 minutes from people who DO have DSL and Cable Internet.
I'll move. What I am lacking is someone to 'lean' on when I do. Right now I have a friend in Philly, who is willing to have me move in, but Philly is still in PA and PA is no good for jobs.
I can handle making *only* 50k a year since my last job was at around 30k.
Omaha sounds perfect, but I have no foothold, thus my dilemma.
While that seems to be everybody, it really isn't. I didn't work for a startup. It was an established company. Unfortunately, my skillset was not worth the expenses I was generating ( healthcare and salary). Those of us that were not part of the bubble are getting lost in the whole thing.
I can remember things but I can't remember how old I was when they occured. I can pin them down though. I remember when my greatgrandmother died and I was outside on the porch. I'd have to look at the obit to see when that was.
I remember stuff as early as probably 5 or 6.
The adjustments in the last couple of years were specific and related to a crash in one, relatively small but high profile, area of the industry.
And what area of the industry was this? I'd like to know, since I've been looking for 14+ months and haven't found anything. My search net is pretty wide. I'm single and have no real attachment to any area. So tell me, where is it that economy is booming?
It is pretty sad that those not working had to log on and post. I shut off my PCs Christmas Eve and just 20 minutes go turned them back on. The internet will be there when you get back.
Agian, I point out, should we just sit here and wait? War of 1812? Spanish American War? WW 1? So because a group of people don't HAVE a country they should get a pass? I'll be sure to let Israel know that they can't defend themselves anymore since Palenstians don't have a country. The Saudis I agree with you, are bad. Why we support them and have never turned on them like we have other is puzzling. Pakistan is nuclear, so they get kid gloves. Not that I like that but it's reality.
Bush's ratings were high before 9/11. If this Iraqi thing lasts more than 3 months I see his ratings going down. I'm not full convinced that Iraq has WMD but unlike you I don't believe they are just being picked on for ratings and cheap oil.
That's sad. This is why I hate the FCC's shooting down the DISH merger. Sure it would create a DBS monopoly but no a TV monopoly. But I guess Cable companies spreading misnformation and cutting lines is ok.
Whoa. I know a lot of poor people that would never join the military. Maybe you haven't heard but there are a lot of Army men who also collect food stamps. So I doubt that the Army is really a stop gap when it comes to keeping the poor from starving. Huh? So in order to trick people into wanting to join, Reagan and now Bush are torpedoing the economy? So durng Clinton's term no one joined the military?
I don't see how the Bush's made people poor. the economy started to tank before he was elected. Not that it was Clinton's fault either. Maybe if I worked for a company Bush owned and was laid off, I might feel that way. I doubt I'd even say that my old employer made me poor. See I saved money for a rainy day. A lot didn't, they were gredy or whatever. Bad personal decision making and laziness make people poor, not the President of the USA.

Vaporware doesn't count.
Do what I do.
Tape it.
Weird. then how come the Pay Phone just down the road from me gets calls all the time?
No shit, it's illegal to exploit a hole.

And people in the USA are always going on how moving to Canada would be better than living here.
I bet we'll never find out who stole it. They'll just be a pile of dust.
Could I get a link or something where it says that?
I've worked jobs where I only got 20 minutes for lunch and that was it.
Did the EULA Sony presented you with require that you keep playing a game you hate?
Did it take over your PC and allow nothing else?
Backup. Fdisk. Reinstall.

That'd be funny, to send a guy and his wife a Thank you, hwne he's cheating in his wife!
I really hope that police officers don't have to carry these types of guns.
I'd rather have one DVD to hold all my data ( actually two, redundancy ya know) than one HDD with movable parts.
Oh yeah, if a real World War type war breaks out, we're all getting drafted. But a strike here and there won't get the draft reinstated.
You always play games!

A draft? Are you crazy? The last thing the military wants is for a bunch of people who do not wanan be there, fighting a war.
