I used them for a bit a year ago, when they were hacked. I had to get my ISP password reset because I was stupid and used theie ftp service. Why people would stick with them after that, is beyond me.
Sadly, it runs windows so no one will actually want to use one for real work, but it looks pretty cool for minesweeper.
Are you saying that the 1000's of businesses taht use Windows aren't really doing anything 'real?' I know Windows can be virus prone and things but to just dismiss it with what you said is just plain silly.
I'd like to know how you did this. What software/OS you are using. I have a machine that I wanna convert to a Tivo-clone. Pausing and skipping commercials is not that important to me but I would ike to get some of my VHS tapes on CD too.
We have always known that people might think the DNS was a single physical point of failure for the internet. That is why we designed it so that it is not.
Come on now! Everyone knows that if you don't do something educational every minute of your life from Kindergarten to your PhD., that you are going to be a failure.
Wait to the companies that use Medical Software find out that Joe Tech Support can't dial in and fix the latest (minimum wage data-entry clerk's) goof up. They'll have to *gasp* do it themelves. Of course they'll blame Joe Tech Support.
Yes, that way when I write something or record something, I can forget about worrying if someone is going to copy it and claim it as their own. Why forget? Because everyone will be doing it and eventually no one will make anything for public listening/viewing/etc.
I wonder if the RIAA realizes this? I used to listen to KPIG all the time and I actually bought CD's after listening to some of their playlist. I had never heard of Ashley MacIsaac before then. So by listening to an online stream I was pursuaded to get the whole album. KPIG and the like are going to have either shutdown or be for-pay and I won't listen. So I won't buy CD's.

Hawaii????? Huh? If that's the case then the whole of the US is being occupied. Hell the whole of the Western Hemisphere is being occupied.
We are experiencing MVS processor spin loops, the programs are running while holding a disabled CPU. This is causing XCF communication delays to the point where we are losing VTAM RTP routing, are suffering OSPF adjacency failures on TCP/IP dynamic routing and MIM VCF failures. Whatever this code is, it should NOT be propagated to production or we run the risk of losing the development plex if XCF signaling is adversely impacted by processor disabled spin loops'.
Was that the actual error message? Or was that how he explained what was happening?
Well to be fair, perhaps he lives in a rural area and can't get to a store that sells dry ice? Or maybe he has a very limited budget and $1.00 a pound is too much.
This is what Amazon.com and the like are for. Spend 10 minutes online and two days later you have your CD.
Well I may be wrong but when was the last time you got a spyware tracking tool fromusing /. or Debian?
Ugh. He bought a laptop for work? Shouldn't his company pay for that?
People who think that these 'free' sites and programs are useful can suffer with all the spyware/worms/viruses they get. TINSTAAFL.
If it was priced competively and was truly mobile, I'd get one in a heartbeat.

Don't have sex.
I'll take half of what the GF was paying to do this 'research', thanks.
What I want? A combo phone that senses I am in my hosue and becoems alocal land line phone and then switches to a cell phone when I leave my house.
Cool.
Linux would be great, that way I won't have to partition the Debian box to install Windows.
SO a well dressed jackass of a programmer is a lot betetr than a casually dressed genius?
Yeah but it's a lot easier to make CD's of music recorded off the commerical free DirecTV channels than it is edit them out of a FM station recording.

d'oh, yeah that's right, I was thinking scanner but typed mouse
Are you saying that Verisign invented DNS?
Kinda like when Bill Gates tried to demo USB and when he plugged in the mouse, Windows crashed?
Work???? You people can find jobs in IT?
You're joking I know, but there are managers that actually would love to see this happen.
