1) I am on the ground with my radio when I fly, and my quad cannot fly without radio contact, so as long as I don't jump into the air while flying it is always supported from the ground.
2) Free flying is fun, but just as with any other camera work for good camera shots you plan your location. This means that a majority of the time having a tether (a long piece of string will do unless they make kites illegal) is totally feasible for aerial photography.
Also, IANAL, but I believe there is existing law that states things viewable by the public can be photographed. This is why Google can have Street View, and the reason I can take a picture of a sunset without attaining the permission of every property owner from where I am standing West to the horizon. This is the equivalent to saying you can't own a tripod higher than two feet, and cannot hold it above knee level. Also, tracking down every person that takes a photo from the window of an airplane that may include parts of either state may prove to be difficult.
I have been so looking forward to this game for so long. After Societies or whatever it was called sucked so bad this game looked like it was going back to the roots of being a stupidly detailed city building game. It was actually going to be the first PC game I've paid for in a few years, and now I am left disappointed:(
You ruined my day Slashdot, shame on you for making me an informed consumer. Jerks.
They are supposed to write policy which congress would then vote into law, but the FAA has been asked, by congress, to write policy for UAVs. Of course being a pedantic ass works too:)
Once you shoot the first one word spreads quickly, problem solved. Given a choice a criminal will always take the path of least resistance and a bullet always travels faster than police.
Wrong, a quad or hex would be better suited for this, they are much quieter. They're also great for actually filming wildlife for the same reason, I can get my quad reasonably close to most animals I have tried to film without them noticing me, and chasing Geese is fun if you don't mind that they will try to attack it.
As of now popular consensus in the RC community is basically that you can fly, you can film, but you can't in any way profit from it as far as Federal law is concerned, but it is a bit of a grey area whether or not they have any control over airspace under 400' AGL to begin with.
However, post them to YouTube with monitization turned off and, barring any local laws making it illegal, you are in the clear.
Also: enjoy, flying for aerial photo/videography is a blast. I suggest the 808 #16 camera, it is pretty amazing for this use, and even my micro quad copter lifts it with ease. Check out the thread in the rcgroups.com aerial photography forum if you'd like more info, it is easily second best to a gopro while being lighter and far cheaper.
This was the same thought I had. There's a huge gender gap in science so it would make sense that if women had to theoretically work harder to achieve the same role, and therefore would work harder to keep their job.
That is a good idea. Mega is encrypting your data so that they can claim no knowledge of what you are uploading to their service. Be it copyrighted music or kiddy porn their encryption prevents them from knowing what you upload. Your encryption is all that is preventing people who are specifically targeting your files.
The flaws aren't really relevant. Anyone using this to store data that needs to be secure just isn't thinking clearly. From my understanding the encryption has little to nothing to do with protecting user data, and everything to do with the company "having no way of knowing" what is contained on their server when it comes to DMCA requests/etc. I don't believe it ever really was advertised as anything other than a way for Kim to cover his own ass.
AFAIK a security researcher said that they believed it came from the US, and an anonymous source "from the US government" confirmed it. How exactly do we jump from that to "everyone knows who was behind it". I've seen both a show on the history channel and an anonymous comment on Slashdot confirming that aliens cause hurricanes. Does that mean everyone knows who was behind it? Is there more substantiating evidence than this that I just haven't read about? I won't lie, after the first 500 or so stories on/. I began skipping over them, so I might just be ignorant on the issue, but would really like to know.
Is there anyone that doesn't know this? Is there some sort of use behind every single non-American posting this with every single story that even remotely involves food? I'm an American, and I'm not obese, but I am sick of hearing about how obese I am. Believe it or not, just because a majority of people are something doesn't mean that all of them are. I realize that is hard to believe though, after all the internet says different and everything on the internet is true. Also, you're referencing data from 2003 and assuming that in the last 10 years absolutely nothing has changed. Good call, moron.
Guess I've never really thought about it but on WiFi the 4G icon is still on, and it must at minimum maintain CDMA connection to receive calls and texts. So as far as I know the cellular connection is always active, and I am fairly sure that having one radio turned on rather than two saves battery, especially when being in my pocket my phone uses very little data. IANAE though, I've never tested it just kind of assumed it works.
That's the funniest joke I've ever heard, how original. What are your feelings on British people's teeth and french people's armpits? Jesus fuck, if you don't know what humor is don't use it. Can we all just collectively agree we get it now, all Americans are fat?
I was just confused that it was someone's first thought. Sure it'll be nice if/when it happens, but the gummed up lawnmower wasn't even on the list of uses I thought of while reading this post. I am not saying it wouldn't help, or that ultimately this wouldn't serve uses everywhere, just that the problem stated is incredibly easy to solve with very minimal effort.
Or, and IANAL (I am not a lawnmower-mechanic), you could stop leaving your lawnmower with gas in it for extended periods. Step one: disconnect gas line and drain gas into external vessel. Step two: start lawnmower and let run until it stops on its own accord. Or, even easier if less environmentally friendly, at the end of the lawnmowing season let lawnmower run until it stops of its own accord. No science required.
I did, at one point have the same problem (I've had Netflix for a couple years) but then I discovered that watching things that I may not watch based on the short description or picture has netted some good results. I only really watch TV if I'm pretty bored, so it isn't as if I've lost anything by watching 10 minutes and then turning it off, and I've stumbled over quite a few things I ended up liking. Hell, occasionally the girlfriend and I have a few drinks and purposely watch random shit we wouldn't normally watch, sometimes you find that movie that is so bad it is absolutely hilarious, and then have fun making fun of it, a la MST3K. To me it is something worth $8 a month, plus I am not willing to pay $70/month for cable. I can see how for others it wouldn't be as great though. There's definitely a lot of content, you just have to like the content it has.
I also pay for the DVD service as well, which isn't really worth it to me because I never remember to send the DVDs back and average maybe 2/month. However I keep it because sometimes I want newer content.
For $8 a month my kid gets access to a whole bunch of PBS programming on demand, and all of the Power Rangers you can shake a stick at (seriously, there are seven lifetimes worth of the various Power Rangers, he never runs out, it is terrible). I get the first 15 seasons of Top Gear. I watched all of Weeds. The family watched the Lorax this past weekend. Me and the girlfriend watched Craigslist Joe the other day, which I thought was a pretty cool film. It is purely down to a matter of taste, for me there is tons of content on Netflix, and it is well worth my money.
Coal miners get black lung, programmers get carpal tunnel, police officers get shot, firefighters run into burning buildings, truck drivers get in accidents. Want to know the one difference between that group of people that are subject to long term debilitating disease? We don't piss away millions of dollars and then complain we can't afford health care, because we didn't have millions of dollars to begin with. It is a risk of the job that you get paid insane amounts of money for, suck it up and quit wasting all your fucking money.
I am a huge football fan but these guys are seriously the biggest crybaby pussies in the world.

You sir deserve a good firm handshake, or a high five if you prefer.

Click in address bar, type URL, hit enter key. In all actuality 99.9% of the internet is but one mouse click away.

They have not got around to writing any laws despite two deadlines for writing said laws having passed already.

I can say for certain your signature is pretty stupid.

Yeah I don't really see the big deal. WiFi serves to kill your battery if you're not using it anyway, why would you leave it on all the time?

That actually won't help the Carb much unless you run it after. Generally the tank isn't the problem, it is the lines and Carb.
Just wait until one sits against your zipper for a little too long, or the two sit with contacts touching.
