I though Slashdotters were all about freedom. Mandela did more than anyone in recent history to promote freedom for his people and others around the world.
You need to get out more.
Well, I agree in a way. The Genie is out of the bottle. But when we abandoned public transport form the '60s onwards (in the UK at least), we started down the slippery slope to clogged motorways, pollution and the like, largely because we can stand spending a few minutes sharing a public space with our fellows.
An oversimplification for sure, but I think there's more than little truth there.
I read this that the new connector would be truly reversible - perfectly possible with a full wave rectifier to guarantee correct polarity - though the forward volt drop ~ 1.2V for two diodes implies a switching regulated after the regulator if 5V is required.
I agree. I'm hanging on to my Dell M4300 because the screen resolution is good, and it supports a second (external) monitor.
May be forced when XP support ends next year and I have to upgrade (company policy)
...think of the bees?
Two or more stupid wars?
Vive la France!
You put a man on the moon so you could use the rocket technology in ballistic missiles
Whilst what you say maybe correct, "The Great Escape" was hardly a documentary. Not sure about "Cool Hand Luke" ... too long ago :(
Feel better for the rant ... keep taking your meds !

Did you mean bad brakes and bald tyres?
Sounds like a bus to me :)
Nothing about China is legit Citation required - otherwise it's nothing but racism China makes all your shiny toys
Listening to the whole Ring Cycle would definitely be a self-inflicted injury!
I agree, but I've seen them applied to things with no internal batteries - in that case it's curtains if they pull out.
Young Nazis these days - what's wrong with a spot of Wagner - the original musical Nazi!!

I'd like to see the back of these. They pull out too easily.
Agreed. OH for mod points!
Design to take power and cat5 in separate bays + sockets for all, available widely.

So experts never make mistakes - seems they were driving too fast for the conditions: a bad workman blames his tools.
don't listen to him ... you WILL regret it.
I would guess data generated in each run is stored to disk, then copied to tape for analysis elsewhere, freeing up disk space for the next experiment.
