Ok, that did expand my terminal window to cover most of 'one' monitor, but the boss can still see my naughty desktop pic through the terminal window. Why did Apple have to make windows transparency settings available?
Somewhere, I have a 1997 Mac World mag with an article predicting solid state drive matching platters in price/preformance in 10 years. Sigh. It's always 10 years away. Hell, I remember bubble memory being the hot thing back in the late '70's/early '80's. 'Course, back then, I was lusting for a private disk drive. That woulda' been so cool!
Yeah, yeah, yeah; and it'll be delivered by flying car, when?
Seriously, am really looking forward to TB size solid state drives. Get rid of these bloody victorian spinning disk contraptions! They may have been fine for that time machine Mr. Wells had but this is the 21st. C.
Apple/Macs have had trouble with deep sleep for years. Once we start seeing problems on a machine (usually desktop, not laptop), we set logic board not to sleep. Solves so many problems.
If Apple's having this much trouble with their limited amount of hardware to support, how do you expect a mere software company to manage it?
In my company, just about every new Mac purchase has included a copy of Parallels and WinXP (our Windows site license is upgrade only for machines that shipped with Windows), to run Outlook (marginally sucks less than Entourage) and Oracle stuff. I imagine MS knows this and Office 2007/Mac will be the last native OSX version. Why code twice if everyone's running native Office apps.
And this would be bad? After years of tech support, it's pretty clear that most people are 'morans'. Do they deserve self determination when they can't even read or comprehend informational messages such as "Press OK to continue" or "Out of Paper". Maybe they could be put to better use such as a central tunnel support on the new Victoria Line.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Can the people be construed to refer to only those who are part of a duly recognized and registered news outlets, religious groups and lobbyist groups? That would certainly cut down on negative reporting and let the government get on with governing instead of dealing with just anyone with a gripe or problem.
I figure I'll end up keeping a PPC machine running classic on the network and just remote desktop into it. Just need to get a 10 person OS X server install...
No, it's just Turtles, all the way down.
What about Tom Stoppard? Who's writing his stuff?
a certain bushy animal comes to mind.
Hedgehog?
Press F11 to hide everything...
Noooooo! Now the boss can see 'Helga' in all her full color glory!

I give Apple 1, perhaps 2 more centuries of profitable operations. ...to take over the world?
Well, everyone knows that Apple is beleaguered and ready to die. Everyone knows that!
s/he just wants to get back home.
Um...and have sex with space chicks?
There's a reason it's called The Gripping Hand.
Want me some Red Princess ah do! (mild NSFW)
Um...puppies are more tender than adult dogs? Less slobber too, I bet.
Except Minnie Riperton. Her version of Stormy Tuesday, with Rotary Connection, is unreal!
And it's people like you that require a /sarcasm tag. And maybe some remedial Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Exactly! Doubt the Doctor uses mechanical storage devices.

What about the First Amendment?

But then we wouldn't have all those cool cable shows about stuff blowing up!
You didn't like No Laughing Matter? Weird!
So...I'm not married to a 5'11" 38F-28-36 librarian/belly-dancer/Unix sys-admin with long dark hair and glasses who digs Conan movies?
Doood!
