The most creative games I've known have taken the base rule system and gone on from there. For some, they want everything laid out for them and are happy with just a fancy version of Choose Your Own Adventure books. Others use a base rule set as a way of creating an original story/world that can be shared out with a common reference base.
There's some people that just use pre-made templates and code sets. Others push the boundaries of a language. Still others go a write their own system.
To some people, daily life isn't trivial. Daily life holds a lot of their attention and is where they channel their passion.
Personally, I don't get it. Yeah, I have fun fixing computer problems but my social standing in relation to my co-workers or neighbors isn't that important to me. Actually, now that I think about it, my social standing in relation to my friends and family isn't that important to me either. In fact, I don't really want to have anything to do with the outside world, other than online. Wonder if it's time to move up to Luna base?
Check out Evo Cam for motion detection on a Mac. I used a demo version of it last year to capture hurricane pics out of my office window (until the power went out). Worked great with both a cam-corder and an iSight.
Shhh...the tech companies will hear you and send out their Ninja-Morris squads and 'get you'. If people realized that they don't need most of the tech crap out there, the economy would be sunk!/used computer user-don' need to pay 'new' tax on kit.
Don't you know that non-partisanship on Slashdork won't be tolerated? If your comment can't be fodder for flamewar, you may be modded down (and cute bunnies won't like you anymore).
How can submissions be neutral? Anyone's free to submit whatever story they want. I doubt there's any way to get all Slashdot members to agree to any sort of editorial submission plan. Besides, how are to all know what's considered neutral?
As a kid who grew up in the '70's, reading stuff like Alas, Babylon and Canticle For Leibowitz, there were a lot of us worried about getting nuked. 'Course, we also had a lot of fun with rpg's like Gamma World and Paranoia. One of the best games I've played was set in our home town, with ruined mall and high school. Lots of good resources if you were clever.
I used to work at a computer retail shop. We scanned UPC and serial on the way out. And most times, customer used credit card/debit card. Instant marketing info on who bought what. Even if the chain doesn't use the info, there's always a ready market for such stuff. So yes, if the government you live under decides that your anti-party screed is objectionable and they want to 'talk with you', they can. Not that our government ever would...
What's so difficult about recording video? You just install a splitter in your cable line, install a tv tuner card in your tower and then install MythTV? After you capture your stuff, just take it into Jahshaka and reformat it for the iPod. After that, you just have to get it moved into your iPod.
Simple.
Why would anyone want to purchase video content via iTMS and have it sync up to their iPod?

Some people have too much time on their hands. d100 takes too long to come to a stop.

Here's a version of Zork, that has it's own runtime app.

Acourse!
For the Mac?
I like the Kensington trackball, with lots of programable buttons and a keyboard. Just wish they made a left hand only keyboard. That would be cool.
No one has ever used my testicles for a web app. At least not that I've noticed.

How do they know when I'm going to stop talking?
Don't forget the nearby desert and really deep gorge (filled with garbage).
They would...love...David Hasselhof?
Right-click, burn-cd?
I suppose you'd use NetBSDM to hack an alien spacecraft?
BUT the news article submissions must be neutral

Heh. You are defending evolution when you can't even spell moran right. I bet you also think you are decended from Charleton Heston.
Remember "East takes you out, out takes you west, west takes you in and in takes you east"? That's the sort of thing you're up against.
What's counterintuitive about this? My 5 year old daughter's picked this up (using old gravity game on her iMac).
Don't worry. You'll geet lots of fud in gaol.

I have both a 60GB iPod and a Shuffle. The 60 GB's for the car and parties, the Shuffle's for the gym and hiking. They fit different niches.
