    Now if they had sold the Cube for under $1000 and made it a bit shorter and not so transparent...it'd be great. /Cube owner who paid $350.00 for a 1.25Ghz G4 upgrade about 6 months ago. Maybe I'll just pick up a Mini and transfer it's guts to the cube...

    I'm 37 and have some good memories of the recent past (real Rock and Roll!. 'Course, I then remember how crappie the speakers were back then, how much of a pain it is to have to get up to change an album (and how heavy they still are-just moved, still have two boxes of vinyl), etc.

    Yeah, as kids, we could run around at 8 years old, on our own, for Halloween. Now, I can't let my kid go out after dark. 'Course, I can go around with long hair and no one hassles me.

    Air flight in the early 70's was like taking a cruise today; no $89 round trip cross country fares. And the news was really filtered. Just having access to a diversity of information sources is cool.

    There will always be bad things happening and good things happening. Just depends on what you focus on. I caught a nice sunrise on the way into work today. Cool!

    A semester or two in school on how to deal with all the bullshit paperwork in life would have been really useful. Hell, even just learning how to find out what offices and licenses have to be dealt with would help.

    Some classes on how to deal with middle management would also be cool. You know the type; people who have risen to the level of their incompetence and have power over others; Human Resources, Licensing officials, etc.

    Yeah, it makes a hell of a shitty server. I imagine that'll keep the grandparents away from it in droves. Besides, how'll you'll fit it in a rack? It'll just drop down until it lands on something else.

    The Quadra 650 came out in '93. I still use mine as a scanning station for a 11x17 scanner. WTF, it works and lets me keep wasting time on Slashdot and Fark.

    Never had any trouble with stuff from datamem.com. I've thrown their stuff in Macs from the old 30 pin days up to my new XServe.

    I actually like the Logitech multi-media keyboard. It has a nice analog volume dial and play/FF/Rev controls that work great with iTunes.

    Kensington's Studio Mouse, with it's scroll slide is really slick. too.

    Check out Side Track. It lets you assign multiple click corners and scroll zones to your trackpad. Almost as good as a real 2 button trackpad.

    You'll notice that I did link to JBM Mavis Bank Estate coffee. I like my coffee like my women; pale and sweet. and JBM really hit's the spot, for me. Real Kona Hawaii isn't bad but I don't really care for Kenya. Besides, I get reimbursed for the coffee I buy at work, as the pot is available for everyone there. Turns out it's still cheaper than a coffee service.

    A Chemex coffee maker, with a good grinder and some Jamaican Blue Mountain will easily eat up 20 minutes or so. And you get some damn fine coffee in the bargain.

    I have an old Sony stereo receiver I got off a trash pile. I gutted it and installed an old G3 Mac and 2 160GB hard drives. This is my digital music player in my A/V rack. As soon as I can afford it, I'd like to get a smallish (6" high) LCD touch screen and use that to control iTunes. For now, I just remote access it.

    You might be able to find some cool retro A/V cases, ala McIntosh. That would sweet, especially if you got the analog gauges working.
