Remember in the late 90's when there were numerous individuals running their own Internet radio stations? And then some pissant organization representing the record companies shut them down? That's when the RIAA first appeared on my radar.
So far it's been Webcasting>Napster>Kazaa>?? All they're doing is moving the cheese further and further out of *their own* reach.
No, it's more like the store owner gives you a cookie gratis, after which the store is bought out, and the new owners claim that you stole the cookie. And the recipie.
You're spot on, I used to work for Motorola and there was nary a PowerPC machine being used *anywhere* that I ever saw. Just x86 stuff for terminals and desktops. (I don't know what their server situation was like.)
"Quite honestly, for commuters who take this route, this change makes much more sense, since the significant majority of commuters are not going to and from O'Hare each day -- it's from the area where the Allstate Arena is located," Butler wrote to Clear Channel staffers. "By the way, all of the concerts that are booked at the Allstate are from Clear Channel Entertainment!"
More people traveling daily to the "Allstate Arena" than (possibly) the busiest fucking airport on the planet?!
ClearChannel has mostly ruined Chicago radio (thank $DEITY for WXRT), and now they fuck up our traffic reports? CC has got to go, seriously.
Starting with "post-crash" systems sounds too much like revisionist history for me, I suppose next people will be claiming that Windows versions start with Win95.
There was no "crash", the focus simply shifted for a few years to home computers until the NES brought it back to console gaming (and personally I wish the home computer trend had continued instead). Now, I must get back to programming my C64..;)
I think the mini-series idea would work well. It would be great to see adaptions from the Silmarillion and Lost Tales like the Fall of Numenor, Battle of Gondolin, Turin & the Great Worm, etc.
However, I can see it becoming an awful joke if the series wasn't treated with the proper respect. "Nazgul on Ice", anyone?
Aluminum.. caused a lot of nasty fires back in the day.
This is largely due to Aluminum's oxidation properties, which tends to create voltage drops at junctions. With enough oxidation, the joint becomes a better resistor than a conductor, the dissipated heat dissipated melts the insulation/wiring/hookup, and a fire may ensue.
I just upgraded my MDK 9.1 install to the 2.6.1 kernel, and made a journal entry about it. clicky

I call it a Hawking-donut. It was my idea.

Indeed, the Opteron was kicking major ass. w00t!
Hey, let's watch the SuperBowl!
The what Bowl?
The Super Bowl!
The Super what?
SUPERBOWL!!
What-What?

Or something..
Hmm, I guess it could be good for that.
People actually use Visio? Bloody useless flowcharts are a PHB's idea of productivity..

Funny you should mention that, I found this egg just a few days ago.
There is only xul.
How many football fields would that fill? Sheesh, use standard terms of measurement already!
I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe Comcast is trying to make us customers nice and happy before laying some bad news on us.

Third generation? Off the top of my head and probably slightly inaccurate:
Just wanted to clairify things a bit. Gaming didn't begin with the SNES after all! :)
Yeah, it's like going from a D average to a B average, and getting the "Most Improved Student" award.
Err, perhaps I've said too much..
Maybe it is, Moz can run tetris, after all.
Mozilla ignores ActiveX crap, it doesn't even parse it. A crash is extremely unlikely to be caused by content which is ignored..
Turn himself in for half a percent of the reward? Sounds too good to pass up..
Like Gollum in LOTR, I almost feel sorry for the litigious bastards. Almost.
Nah, the PS2 is just an old POS.

With French words, all bets on pronunciation are off. Hors d'oeuveres anyone? ;)
SCO is loose as a goose.
