What London Youths revolution?
Are you referring to those people randomly destroying things, and stealing from stores?
Because, yeah, putting stuff on fire is so fun, and getting brand new flat screen TVs is a necessity in life...
I don't think this "revolution" had anything to do with politics.
Technically, Firefox 9.0 is scheduled to enter Beta at the same time they release Firefox 8.0.
That means November 8. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases
Why yes, just 6 weeks after Firefox 7.0 release...
Seriously, calm down on the major releases, Mozilla.
You are correct in that video games are cheap compared to other forms of entertainment.
I'm just surprised with the pricing difference between MMOs (especially this one) and other games.
The monthly fees are supposed to pay for the development of new content, and the cost of running the servers, but:
- then, why do you have to pay for expansion packs, if you already paid for new content?
- I'm pretty sure their servers do not cost $15 per player to run.
As cheap as they can?
$60 upfront (cheapest version) and then a monthly fee?
By the way, they also announced the amount of the monthly fees: http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20110924
- 1 Month Subscription: $14.99 (£8.99/€12.99)
- 3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/£25.17/€35.97)
- 6 Month Subscription: $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/£46.14/€65.94)
So, when working with a library you've never used before, it is faster for you to switch between the documentation and your code, than to use some sort of auto-complete feature, and to see the available methods along with their documentation right away?
"Every game is too short, although we never finish the games we play"
Speak for yourself.
I (almost) always finish the games I buy. I can't possibly be the only one.
I consider some games too short, but if a game gives me 30+ hours of gameplay, I consider it fair.
I would press 'Cancel', for sure, considering I've never wanted this "Helly Kitty Screen Saver" to launch.
I get your point, though. Most users would click 'OK' without reading the dialog box (if they haven't already disabled the UAC...)
What do you suggest to prevent those "broken" users to do this?
Make it more annoying by requiring them to type a password, and not allowing them to disable this kind of messages? (Comparable to what Linux does?).
US banks were definitely given ratings they didn't deserve.
But that doesn't mean the US debt isn't a risky investment.
You didn't actually think the US government (or any indebted government, for that matter) really planned to pay back the debt?
At some point, creditors are just going to stop lending.
Then how are governments going to meet their obligations?
Meh. The current processing power of the Bitcoin network is reportedly equivalent to 103 PetaFLOPS (according to http://bitcoinwatch.com/)
Of course, it is technically incorrect to refer to FLOPS (Floating Point Operations Per Second) in the case of Bitcoin, as the hashing algorithm doesn't use any floating point operations, but I digress.
Though they could argue that it's written multiplayer, and not internet game. And the LAN part still works (I think).
And they have more money to spend on lawyers than the average gamer.
Now, Codemasters, I have to admit I considered buying Dirt 3. Forget it.

Support? Sure.
Adoption? Not so much.

Apparently no, it does not require the Origin client: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=8488436#edit8488436
However, it does require an Origin account: http://www.swtor.com/info/faq#170974

Last time I checked, animals are naked ALL THE TIME so the very fact there walking around is pornography.
Uh? From Wikipedia:
Pornography or porn is the portrayal of explicit sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual arousal and erotic satisfaction.
Nudity != Pornography

What could possibly go wrong?
Thank you.
I finally understood why everyone says SSL is broken.

I know nobody reads TFA, but you didn't even read the 2nd line of the summary:
or even the title:
:)
Just make sure it's a lead-lined one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0upNuDNRSk
Yes, but I think 0123456's point was that many users would click "OK", and being administrators, they wouldn't have to type any password.
I think.
Or else, I fail to see how this dialog box would show that the security model is broken (according to him).

Millions of vacuum tubes get manufactured each year.
Now, I could be wrong, but I don't think the same can be said about "cars from the 1930's".
Self-signed certificates are vulnerable to Man-In-The-Middle attacks (rendering them mostly useless).

Social Security isn't an investment.
The government isn't supposed to be making money out of it.
Frankly, I read the summary talking about games taking 10 hours as if that was a long time, and I'm thinking "WTF?!"
This.
10 hours is an awfully short time.

Good question.

police have arrested a total of 13 people thus far. A 14th person is still being hunted.
13 people. How massive.
About those "security questions", you should give an answer that's totally unrelated to the question.
Of course, it's harder to remember, though.
