  1. Bill is awesome!! on Bill Gates Says Anti-Vaccine Effort Kills Children · · Score: 1

While I am no big fan of M$, I have become a big fan of Bill. He is simply awesome! I am currently battling with a bucch of homeopathic peope in an anti-vaccine forum. And, to be honest, those people are idiots. They have no idea of statistics or even biology. I rape them with wikipedia knowledge. Still, these idiots rech a lot of people. And try to convince them with celebrities which are on their side (*cough* Scientology *cough*). So: Go, Bill, go!!

  2. Re:Usual Slashdot Timeliness on Court Rules Dungeons and Dragons Threatens Prison Security · · Score: 1

Yeah. That story already pissed me off a year ago... I asked Mr. Stackpole, who is kinda an expert (being the author of the Pulling report, debunking the myth of RPG games being dangerous) about this. He told me, that nothing can be done since prisoners have simply less rights. Idiotic.

Other autors publish already publish their stuff as ebooks for years: http://www.michaelastackpole.com/?p=1073 (Ok, that link is just half a year old, but he does it for years now...) A lot of Stackpoles blog posts revolve around autors creating their own ebooks.

  9. Stackpole predicted the downfall of the publishers on Barnes and Noble Bookstore Chain Put In Play · · Score: 1

ages ago... So, no real "news" here. As an insider and veteran business he states for years now that the publishers are getting in trouble, see e.g.: (pretty recent, I know, but he wrote similar things long before) http://www.michaelastackpole.com/?p=1568 http://www.michaelastackpole.com/?p=1490 I guess, he is quite unloved by publishers because he teaches authors how to create & market ebooks... (For those who don't know him, he wrote e.g. for Star Wars & Battletech).
