Giving the engine for free is a massive swing to what I believe is the future of gaming. Gamers are too far gone now to be "enchanted" by games and want to know how it all works, and how they can change it to suit them better. Fallout 3 is the first game I came across that was fully supported by the community with mods, skins, and improved game play with patches to fix bugs. Having 12 people working on a game and patches is weak compared to having hundreds of intelligent and willing contributors all working for a common goal. Let the players have the keys to the car, you will be amazed at the way we can drive.

This fad of "cloud" saving has got to be the dumbest thing to emerge from the idiots who convinced people that their personal information would always be safe and then either lost it all or it was compromised by hackers. How about just keeping your damn files, information, or anything else of value OFF THE INTERNET!!!!!!! You want safety? You want to ensure your info? It's called an external drive or usb flash drive. It keeps ALL you put on it and it's within your own environment meaning you can always access it, modify it, or erase it at your own leisure. Letting someone you never met or know personally having access to your info or data is just......stupid. I never entered anything personal on the net because I'm not an idiot, companies feed off of idiots, who else buys into this failed idea.
You know if ANY other industry tried this crap they would be sued and bankrupt in no time. If you bought a used car and had to pay a "used car fee" just to activate things like..the radio...emergency brakes...the air bag...would you or would you not punch the seller in the jewels or taco respectively. First the gaming industry was about the gamers...now it has taken the approach of the record industry in which THEY know better than you when it comes to YOU being entertained. This kind of thing has given excuse to anyone smart enough to hack a console and download games so they can "stick it to the man". Companies keep jacking the price up for worthless DLC the more people download or rip rented games for cheap, it off sets the actual worth of games who's only premise is "this game is awesome but with DLC it can cure cancer".....regardless of anyone's feelings I support the devs working on homebrew and jailbreaking systems, at least THEY have a heart and TRY to make fellow gamers happy...something companies have long forgotten.
it's not bad at all, corn syrup is whats dangerous. And besides the idea that everyone has to be supermodel thin is just preposterous. Habits in eating is more of a symbol of current financial and emotional states. Bigger people are either afforded the opportunity to consume food an a regular basis or they are so poor that McDonalds becomes a staple in their diet.
But that's only relevant if you bypass the fact we all die and the condition in which we are buried or cremated is not really important at all.

I mean have you seen those people who ace guitar hero on expert....imagine if they learned to ACTUALLY play the songs using that level of dedication. Privacy can not be maintained when so many people have access to the servers and software directly connected to your smart phone or computer. I remember when phones made phone calls...and that was it. No ring tones, no aps, just a basic fully functioning device use to communicate with others. Now people are shocked that the "smart" phone is considered a prize to thieves. It's a key to the bank you use and you keep it under your door mat...what did you think was gonna happen. If people want security then use the brain you were given to memorize said info...and don't say some people can't. Information of utmost importance can be retained and locked away behind lies and deception and can not be stolen without the owners participation. (see social engineering) Phones makes no judgment on who is holding it and will open itself to whoever wants in. So the reality of the matter is people who are foolish enough to place personal info into a network deserve being ripped off. Jump into a fire, you will get burned. Simples.

Because a hand full of people are hording all the wealth they can the entire system becomes lop sided, meaning companies who are not allowed to horde are forced to nit pick, scrimp and save every dollar they can all the while legally bound by law to maximize profits for share holders. With machines doing all the work humans can live without the stock market and everyone will have access to the luxury only reserved for the greedy and selfish.
