The technology to move lots of water over the ocean has been around for awhile. I worked on this project for instance, back in the 90s. http://www.waterbag.com/
Thank you. I did state they'd "try to raise rates". But I hadn't thought through all the implications. But in my case, solar isn't a good match for my circumstances, since I live way north. And until I am sure it's financially and physically viable for me to do so, I won't be doing that. Think of the problems involved with hail during the summer and heavy snow with little daylight during the winters, But I do appreciate your comment since it got me thinking about alternatives again:)
Speaking from experience, when demand for a utility goes down 10-20%, the utility company will try to raise rates 10-20% based on the fact that they have had a drop in revenue, but still have the same costs.
Almost always, I have mod points. And I use them as best I can. And I agree with your sentiments mostly. Problem is, your post leaves me wondering if I should mod it as insightful or flamebait. Tone down the rant a bit, and you'd get insightful, but imho this is flamebait. And stupid. Just an fyi.
Most references I've seen say it's 25-27% of the crust (still alot).
WoW client works fine under wine (tad better than under Windows imho).
Would a "whooosh" be an appropriate comment now?
Sounds like a job for Mythbusters.
Just remember, they slammed extra metal onto the moon at mach 8! It evens out ;)
except that was a well known hoax http://www.geek.com/articles/gadgets/pc-toaster-bay-dupes-bloggers-20080827/
Sounds like LA in the 60s. The smog would on some warm days look like thick fog, except the temperatures would be warm.
Oddly enough, I usually don't eat the receipt.
Does Siberia have a shortage of nannies?
As I commented elsewhere, I worked on this idea back in the 90s. http://www.waterbag.com/

I am not ever on crack, and always have mod points. You are a troll. Now to go find some of your recent comments to kill your karma...
Wooosh
My wife was born that size/premature, so it happens from time to time.
To be fair, you obviously haven't visited the Pacific Northwest. Sonar is the appropriate measuring method 10 months of the year.

That would be Jerry Pournelle and maybe Bill Nye the science guy. http://www.jerrypournelle.com/view/2010/Q1/view612.html
Ignore the font, likely unintentional. Slashdot has a peculiar way with certain posts (I forget the details of why it happens).
Fishing for a response?
So we should expect the password to the insurance file shortly? Interesting to see what it contains.

I'm not sure if he's still at PBS. Thought he (the current user of the name) moved to http://www.cringely.com/ a few months ago.
Gawd. Don't make me remember about irc back when AOL users were let onto the internet. /me slaps you with a wet trout and stuff
I'm old enough to have voted for Nixon. Warren G. Harding predates even I ;)
