The rich folks who are profiting from the death of Iraqis like Lieberman because he supports the amoral military conflict in Iraq. CT has a large Jewish contingent who vote and like Lieberman's unquestioning support of the state of Israel. He also spouts the usual fear mongering lines about terrorists, so he gets a chunk of that block too.
Federal government fucked up the planning of that incursion since day one when they thought the military could solve a diplomat's problem. Then the military said they could do it despite warnings, and the military has been fucking it up for years, despite consuming 2/3 the nation's income AND borrowing almost a Trillion Dollars to get the job done.
...why start now? See: Afghanistan and the rise of Osama BinLaden. The Israel problem is the same as the Iraq problem. Idealistic simpletons ignored their betters and went ahead with an ill-advised plan that had a high 'feel good' factor.
Supporting the Israel with exponentially more money that is given to the Palestinians ensures the Israelies will be able to kill way more Palestinians than Palestinians can kill Israelies. Israel expands into Palestinian lands, refusing to give up the 'captured lands' because the Palestinians did not deserve land they could not hold. Oh the irony from a group of people who couldn't hold their 'holy land' and had to have it given to them like a welfare handout.
Whatever, I don't care for one side or the other, I'd just like to see my taxes given away in a more equitable fashion to all parties involved.
Anyone who would participate in such an aggressive act as destroying a country's government, military and infrastructure and just assuming the thousand-year-old rivalries would have been pacified by a mere century of British rule and conglomeration of regions....well, they deserve to die.
One of my senators is the once-RINO, now 'Independent' Joe Lieberman. That little rat-faced turd is a cancer on my state, but he has perfected pandering to key groups and so continues to be elected.
...wah wah wah. Clinton and the Republican Congress had their spy attempts shot down (Clipper Chip?!) in plain view. The shit that's going on, especially Bush's decision to skip getting court orders for the spying...cannot be compared to Clinton's asshole moves. They're not even in the same sport.
They use their clout to pressure people to use less energy by making energy harder to get. Since the USA consumes twice the energy per person as Britain (The second largest consumer) I'd say they were on the right track. We can get by with less, and we should. If we halved our oil usage, we could nearly be self sufficient! We could tell the Middle East to go fuck off and work on re-newable sources to use in place of oil.
It's a bit dickish, but so are the religionists when they try to get their wacky fairytale rules into secular law. But, they do have a bit of a point.
I'm more of the mind that we should share information freely because a rising tide moves all ship, but move money out of military budgets and into social programs.
They will paint the defendant as someone who by running a computer should know everything about what goes on as that computer, and the ignorant people will agree and your claim that you 'did not have knowledge' will be dismissed and you will be found guilty.
Now, if you had been a government employee or appointee, you could get away scott-free with that excuse...
Just like politicians know better than intelligence agents on what constitutes a real threat to the USA, and how politicians know better than generals on what constitutes a feasible war plan.
Not many places in the US interest me. I've seen the natural beauty, but I prefer bumming around cities. US cities....meh...NYC, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco are all interesting but the majority of 'vacation destinations' in the US just don't interest me. I'd rather spend my dough hanging about Rome for 2 weeks than spend 6 weeks touring the US.
Not a mainframe. Sloppy language is good for nothing.
It's cheaper and less capable but I guess because it has several processors and a somewhat autonomous disk array...that's a 'mainframe'?
Not in my world.
I hope someone you care about dies as a result of the USA's bungling of Iraq in specific and the 'war on terror' in general. Ta!
I didn't think it was 1%, but they have an excellent voting record while other groups barely get 40-50% to the polls.
Because Java application servers have been multi-threaded for a long, long time.
Obviously, I haven't read the article.

I guess CT gets the government it deserves.

Oh well...that's government for you.

For that, I cannot abide the man. That, and his cheer leading of the occupation of Iraq.
Must be the Freedom Derangement Syndrome.

Phaf!

That seems to be the heart of your 'argument'. Greed is not good, Gordon.
...by the USA!

So all those summer days reading books and programming my C64 weren't improving my intelligence?
I'm more of the mind that we should share information freely because a rising tide moves all ship, but move money out of military budgets and into social programs.
I've seen some ignorant judges and juries lap up utterly absurd claims about technology before.

Some old shit...
Most Americans don't, which is why they carry so much debt and the economy is shitting the bed.
If America cannot exist as the free country it claims to be, then it needs to be reformed or destroyed.

You know, from the moon or the asteroids? It's 'zero-sum' NOW, but that may change in the future.
