I do believe the government can jail you indefinately if you won't turn over the keys. Hopefully they can't declare you an Enemy Combatant who can be dissapeared forever...but I'm sure Lil'Bush and Company are trying their darndest!
It's the reading lamp for geeks! Custom spectrum 68watt coated Metal Halide lamp, and two 20watt incandescent lamps. You can use one or the other or both.
They're expensive tho...and the bulbs are propriatory...but I still want one.
Do you not like the 60hz flicker? I dislike the nasty yellow color from incandescent bulbs. You can get Flouros of any color temperature you can imagine. I like 'cool white' but you can get a fine 2100K yello flouro just like your old caveman bulb!
...my apps and systems are only used by 250,000 employees over the course of a 24-hour period. But you know, it still impresses me and that's all that matters!
My J2EE applications are running in 5 datacenters on 4 continents and keeping in sync using features built into the container that cost me nothing to implement past some configuration.
Look, I'm the biggest pro-ponent of a government-managed healthcare system. But the people who come up with these things deserve a little for their effort.

Nothing I use my machines for would realy benefit from 64-bit processing. I don't use that much memory, and the heaviest CPU load comes from Nero trans-coding AVI files and CIV4.
I'll probably move up to 64, when you guys start talking about 128!
Another attempt to get adults to give up some freedoms in the name of the precious children who must be free of sex predators so they can grow up to live in a society that gives up freedoms in order to protect the precious children...
You missed the point. Just because 'society' says something is wrong, doesn't make it wrong. Society once thought slavery was all good. Society once thought that making women subservient to men was all good...and some societies still do! Me, I make up my own morals based on others' ideas.
I mean, that's a collection of rules and people were made to obey the rules. Sure several million people were murdered for being the wrong race...but that was the law at the time!
I'd still prefer two (or more) discrete CPUs. Several years ago I did some research and the multi-CPU boards seem to allow for greater total bandwidth between CPU, disk and memory. Well, in my price range anyway.
