Other eclipse plugins which my work exploits requires that JDK and it's quite easy to set up. Eclipse even has facilities to configure multiple JDKs and to easily switch between them.
Irrational fear of terrorism when you are far more likely to die in an automobile accident...yet people are afraid of these threats and willingly give up their protections, as witnessed by the jury in your example.
It is a sad state of affairs, but I see no way out of it. As long as the government can claim "We're at war, some rights are abridged" and just say "Whale Biologist!" whenever they're caught breaking the laws they are sworn to uphold...these things will continue to happen.
My only hope is that people will become immune from these fear-based control techniques over time, and decide that they want their old rights back.
I can't think of too many times in history that a population has successfully reclaimed a right taken by their government. Prohibition comes to mind...
The US throws its weight arround. Leans on other nations to get her way. It isn't right, and as an American citizen it disgusts me. Like how we lean on other nations to move their policies closer in alignment with our own.
Why do they do it? Fear and Greed. As the US economy dwindles, the greed will be less...and perhaps as other nations ramp up their offensive capabilities...fear will be less.
And cue the tools who will call me an idiot because these policies 'keep me safe'. No thanks...I think these policies are increasing my risks.
Perhaps effecting regime change through financing rebel groups in Afghanistan wasn't such a bright idea, eh? Do you think the ill-fated incursions into Panama might be part of why South America is so distrustful? The only reason Columbia did anything about cocaine was the tons of money shipped their way...
US out of everywhere damnit. Let us fix our own problems. If external troubles come to us, we will respond. This pre-emptive bullshit is not working.
Article implies that these are the lame RAID systems that the l33t G4m3rz use...the ones that use the CPU to do the real work, rather than having the card do it.
I didn't realize they were so wide-spread...especially in government! Seems like just an additional avenue for data corruption should the software hiccup and lunch your data.
When I joined my employer in 1997, the 401k plan had a nice paragraph telling you that you shouldn't invest everything into the company stock. That you should diversify.
This is not a new concept, but then again, people still smoke, have unprotected sex, over-eat, believe in lies, etc...
I don't care what the law is called, we have an internal system that includes the same requirements and adds a few more 'just in case'...you dumb shit.
I will watch the debut of a new episode on 'the air' with commercials and all. Then I download that episode so I can watch it again when I want. Once the DVD is released, I buy that and toss my inferior no-commentary DVDs that I burned.
That bastard. Thanks to his scum-bag firm, my team at work has to spend boring BORING days making sure our systems are 'audit ready' for the new laws passed because of Enron.
He has to be reminded each day that he is 40, not 20. He visibly hits on his daughter because she's cute apparantly and he can't get it into his head that she is now 20.
But what do I know? Every Mac user I've ever met has been a profoundly un-technical artiste who has yet to find a market, or a nerd who likes unique hardware and software.
Not sure why exactly they would want to encrypt the scores as they flew over the network though. The scores are public knowledge...who cares if they are sniffed? Technology demonstration? Wanted to use the 'encryption' buzzword perhaps?
There IS a bit too much ass-kissing on the cast comentaries for my tastes, but I think I can forgive them since they spent so many years together. The technical and the directors commentaries were my favorites.
Maybe it's just because I'm such a LOTR freak.
Are there any other films that have such a depth of commentaries? I know I would LOVE to see a treatment of One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest...except it's far too late for the commentaries to be anything but Simpson Commentary-esque.
I suppose the money men need to know that the cult audience is there and waiting before they spend the cash...but really...you'd think that anyone who works on a movie in any aspect would jump at the chance to talk about how they contributed to it. How much extra could it cost to get a screening room and some recording equipment for a few hours?
I dunno if I'd want to pay to see a movie twice in the theaters, just to hear the commentary however. I mean, how loud do you need your earbuds so you can even hear over the theater sound? Still, it is a really cool idea and since I know plenty of people who would be seeing a beloved movie multiple times in a theater anyway, this idea definately has an audience.
I think the terrorists may have won, and they only had to kill a few thousand US citizens. What a shame. I wonder when single men will be required to produce ID if they walk past a public place where the children might be or where a terrorist attack would claim many lives.
After hearing stories about people having their funds frozen with no legal means to get it back, I decided I didn't want anything to do with PayPal. I didn't miss eBay one bit, but I used to buy parts on web boards, and everyone there used PayPal.
I hope GBuy will be less evil, and that it will catch on so I can buy used PC and car parts from forum members again.
If the DMCA had been arround in the early 1980's...would IBM still hold a monopoly on the PC BIOS? Think of all we would have missed out on. Apple probably would have folded up for lack of users if the Mac clones industry didn't happen...although they'd like you to forget that
I couldn't find any studies that claimed my parents' generation was acting more child-like. If anything, the studies seemed to imply 'over maturity' in that my parents' generation were over-worked and under-family-timed as compared to THEIR parents' generation.
I agree with your statement in most cases, but not this one.
Children demand time and money. The social system in this country is set up and even helped by government to encourage people breeding. My opinion is that they know they've 'got you' when you have a kid. You become more predictable and less risk-taking. You are the ideal citizen who will choose the status quo more often because the children and increased costs increase your stress level...why choose for more stress by encouraging a changing environment!? You realize that you can lean on society in ways that child-less people cannot...and therefore you want to maintain the ability to lean...which means not rocking the boat and changing things.
Better to conform within a sub-group than to conform to the entire group. For a self-acclaimed mature person, you sure do see things in black and white! Or is that the sign of maturity?
Besides, tradition is the must incredibly inane reason for doing ANYTHING. Sure, look at it, and then make your own decision...but to do it because it is traditional, and everyone else is doing it...that just makes you a tool.
I think religious mores are hated because of the inherant hypocracy in the rules and the practicioners both. We can pick and choose the good from religion and leave behind the socials rules of the savage originators that condems eating kinds of animals, or kinds of sex or behaviours within family groups.
Your post is a perfect troll if I didn't htink you were actually serious. We're all nihilists if we don't succumb completely to the demands of the aging populace?

Says alot about the mindset of this guy...he lumps in un-popular religions with groups who actually set out to hurt people.

I mean, how do you think eBay makes money? Not off of auction fees, nossir. PayPal fees.

Seems fair to me.

Since morals seem to be universally attributed to religious codes...perhaps it was disingenous of me to do so.
revised: LexisNexis is 'more wrong' than the hackers.
burp.
I think LexisNexis is more amoral and unethical than the hackers.

Catholic Church is based on the teachings of Jesus, but they add a whole bunch of even more wacky beliefs to the mix.
