Woah. I used to live in KW too, you know. Took that a little far didn't you? You went from reality to la-la land when you confused Oktoberfest with a celebration of RIM...
Until you realize that ailments like Cancer and Aids, and research into Stem Cells and other controversial subjects, have not had enough funding devoted to them, and you contract and die from one of them without a cure in sight.
It was nice that you left such a legacy of debt to your loved ones.
Why should you be allowed to patent something that occurs naturally anyway? When are the biotech companies going to start charging me because I have brown hair, blue eyes, and fair skin with freckles; just because they own the patent to them?
The subject's a joke, but I've had dreams inspired of video games many times. I've been hooked more than once on games like MUDs, AC (Ashersons Call/Crack), Diablo II, Halflife, etc. I routinely have dreamed about these games. Killing Zombies in AC with my level 15 mage, or kill mephisto over and over again with my sorceress in Diablo.
This shit gets into your head and it won't come out. I lost a serious relationship due to AC, and I just kept playing. The game made reality seem harsh compared, even though I was getting beaten by monsters relentlessly.
Parent comment is fundamentally WRONG. Has either never really read up on the events that happened during the crusades and inquisition, or believes every word that spews forth from the Church's holy mouth.
I need to dig up my inquisition books to formally refute the comment, but the Crusades were initiated by the Church to capture the Holy Land from the infidels (This could possibly be mistaken as defensive AFTER they took Jerusalem and ruled it for years). And the Inquisition was most DEFINATELY about weeding out Heresy. Genecide was committed in God's name... There was a large group of French Christians whom I forget the name of which were eradicated by the Inquisition (and this is only but one example).
I agree as well. Not only is it easier, it's less expensive! Since school ended my friends and I have all migrated to different places. Rather than all of us racking up long distance trying to call each other, we hop on the internet (which we all have a connection to anyway) and chat. Sure, we're not actually speaking to each other... but if we really wanted we could fire up the webcams and the microphones and you're set.
(And once again...) TV is also not a social activity. I don't know how sitting around watching moving pictures constitutes socialization.
Most likely... 0. I wonder how well Linux or other open source solutions would catch on if the government and some large private firms got on the band wagon. Use Linux at work, use Linux at home, tell your friends how easy things are. Who knows.
I agree. Too many problems are being solved with technology as the answer, when simpler means could be used.
Simply having signs in English doesn't help visitors who speak other tongues, but multi-lingual signs would help. Many visitors may even be able to pick up easy words from signs in English rather than trying to translate Japanese characters. I for one am used to seeing road signs in English/French so going to Quebec, I can pick out what the French signs translate to.
etc, etc. The industry will continually find another reason for you to upgrade. And I'll keep doing it, because I like to be on the Bleeding Edge (TM).
...Canada and Australia have not, as of 2004, passed...twenty-year extensions. Consequently, their copyright expiry times are still life of the author plus 50 years. As a result, characters such as Mickey Mouse, and works ranging from Peter Pan to the stories of H. P. Lovecraft are public domain in both places. (The copyright status of Lovecraft's work is debatable, as no copyright renewals, which were necessary under the laws of that time, have been found. Also, two competing parties have independently claimed copyright ownership on his work).
But, couldn't someone internal who believed in the GPL go and release the source with no reprecussions?
Arbitrary? Celsius has just a significant starting point as Kelvin.
In one case, we're looking at absolute zero.
In the other, we're looking at the freezing/melting point of water.
Hell, celcius was based on water. Why do you think water melts/freezes at 0 and evaporates/condenses at 100? Pure chance??
Wow. Lots of us Tri-City nerds pointing out the bullshit here. We must all be slacking off on the job (or school, same thing).

I thought it was "Integrated" with the operating system.
You're missing the point. It's the Parsing. Never very fun.
I'm assuming this is until the problem is fixed:

Ah, Thanks. That is the name I was looking for.

Simple:
0-11-[Country Code]-[Number you wish to reach]
An interesting vision into the future. Definately a possibility from the way microsoft has acted in the past. (For example the "caller id" technology)

It could happen. Really. I'm not deluding myself!

If they can't pump up the MHz they'll get you with everything else:
"Anti-Virus Projection" - AMD & NX Flag (Earlier today)
"Multi-Core chips"
"Dual processors"
etc, etc. The industry will continually find another reason for you to upgrade. And I'll keep doing it, because I like to be on the Bleeding Edge (TM).
Alas, this dimwit cannot spell.
From Wikipedia, the argument is not conclusive:
...Canada and Australia have not, as of 2004, passed...twenty-year extensions. Consequently, their copyright expiry times are still life of the author plus 50 years. Destroy the pagan holiday!
Now, that, is a gem.
You forgot:
1. Digitally Sign the Internet
2. ???????
3. PROFIT!
Seems they're blocking refers from /.
All you need to do is copy/paste the url
Games section only! Oh well, it's not that hard to hit penny-arcade.com and add to the overwhelming amount of bandwidth they go through.
