But hell no, let's just declare the DB useless when in fact the DBA / coder was useless.
It actually seems to have been some strange hardware issue(s) that have crashed the server a few times over the past month or so. Obviously I need to replace the server, which can be difficult to do as a non-profit.
But I reject the claim that either of us are useless.
The CCNP was VERY hard to pass, and after getting it I landed the exact job I wanted within 3 days.
Having said that, I haven't graduated from college, but in my 3 years in school I built up my resume by working at the helpdesk and then as a sys admin. I don't think my career would be where it is today if I hadn't gone to school, even though all I really used were the contacts.
Looks pretty sweet so far. I've got close to 300GB of movies, but only one of my drives is large enough to hold all of them at once. I've been looking for some software to span the backup across multiple drives, and this seems to do just that. Running my first backup now.
Do you have some sort of data that you can back up your use of the word "retarded?" The exaggeration is obvious, so if you could even just justify using the word "stupid" or "idiotic" that would be a big help.
I wasn't aware you could actually get rid of it. As far as I know, using add/remove programs only gets rid of the icons. Start->Run->"iexplore" still loads the browser.
I don't think this is "just another forum." This one has star power (Jimmy Wales) and press (Boing Boing and Slashdot so far. Probably newspapers soon).
I'd say if it is a small office, you don't want to build your own. If you have one or two servers, I think it'd be smart to let someone else support your hardware.
Now if you have 30 identical servers, it is probably a good idea to build your own. That way, even if you have to spend 20 hours one week diagnosing a hardware problem, you can apply it to all 30 machines. A lot more efficient than the work that would go into one or two machines.
Seeing if a chip fabrication plant sticks seems to me to be extremely expensive. If they were to make their own chips, I would guess it would be a bit more well-thought out, and not just someone's 20% project, which is where most of their new products seem to come from.
I was comparison shopping for broadband prices once. I called Comcast to get their rates, and told the guy I would call back if I decided to sign up. I picked someone else and didn't sign up, but they sent me their home install kit and started billing me anyway. I had to threaten legal action before they sent me a screenshot showing a 0 balance.
OSX is based on FreeBSD. And I am pretty sure that the BSD license allows you to do pretty much whatever you want with the code, which is why OSX is not forced to be open source.
Damn...that sucks. I guess the thing I would look forward to most is just being able to experience the scale of it all. I am sure there are a few other places that have this type of scale too.

As far as I know, it takes a while for the number to be verified as correct.
Seriously, just relax. Catch up on your online reading/posting. Play some Solitaire.
Anarcho-syndicalism does not at all involve capitalism.
I wrote up a very simple set of step-by-step instructions entitled "How to be Anonymous on the World Wide Web Using Windows"

or sudo bash, sudo csh
That is what I use. And then I just "exit" when I am done.

He also gives a lot of talks. I am guessing he makes a good chunk of change off of that.

You can't talk with other people about educational subjects? What if a child wants to email his classmates or teachers?
I would estimate that half the cost of your $100 laptop battery is copyright BS.
IRC sucks. Every room you go into has 20 people, 10 of whom are bots and 10 of whom aren't saying a word. Is there something I am missing here?
"just fine" shouldn't include using a 3rd party tool. Add/Remove programs should actually...remove the program.
"have to keep IE on my computer"

What the hell are you talking about?

apparently their own cpus now
Is it, indeed, aparent? I didn't think it was very clear at all.

Only place I have ever seen that is at computer shows.
What is wrong with going to the movies?
