It is quite possible that we're one of the first or the first, and we'll take the role of progenitor and assistant of other developing species on other worlds; like the aliens in 2001/10/63/3001.
I wonder what they would do if somebody did put up a solar shade? Nothing, most likely, because only a handful of countries have that kind of launch capabilities; and those that do probably won't waste a rocket to destroy or de orbit something helping the planet. On the other hand...
flamebait? The hell? I agree completely; quite a lot of what is under federal control needs to be given back to the states; different rules for different areas tend to work better for those living in said areas.
we have a fair number of political parties for every opinion; people just don't know about it because democrats, republicans and big media shut them out of the 'public awareness' (CNN, NBC, ABC etc.).
while that's true- how many (modern day illiterate users) people do you know who would actually want to go into dos to launch an application? You or I would most likely, but I hardly see it becoming mainstream so to speak.
I disagree; I usually play open ended style RPGs like the elder scrolls, and I beat SW the force unleashed in about 6 hours of play time. And no, I'm not really big on gaming.
thank you; almost every day I am forced to inform someone that by not voting for the candidate they most support, they're supporting a vicious cycle. Its worse than voter apathy because these people actually have opinions and candidates who stand for said opinions.
The 'rule' so to speak isn't for the crew's time experience; it's designed to make sure that its not passed by a faster ship while its still on the way there. I had honestly forgotten, but yeah flying at 90% the speed of light, the crew would only be experiencing a fraction of the time as observed from earth; but again, you don't want to get passed by a faster ship.
in a fusion powered orion, it falls far short of the 50 year rule; 500 years with current technology. If we found a plentiful antimatter source, we could cut this to about 60 years.
yeah, but I highly doubt that ever GNU/Linux user has some sort of malware from GCC. As for compiling, even without a personal code audit (thousands of eyes excuse), I trust it a hell of a lot more than I'd trust apple. They didn't realize that a 'flashlight app' was really just a tethering app. Do they even look at source code?
you do realize that a single person in the US government is given the de facto ability to wage war without any approvals- the president (huge over-empowerment imo). The senate just declares it a war. The last war that was declared was world war two; Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq again, none of them were ever approved by congress. We tend to have highly militaristic presidents, and no, party doesn't matter.
perhaps nethack would be a fun game for you. It's acknowledged by blizzard as inspiration for diablo, and it's a pretty fucking awesome game otherwise.
or we could just, you know, reprocess nuclear waste into fuel instead of dumping inside a mountain.
the problem is that you're working under the assumption that politicians care about the constitution.
This is slashdot- no need to duck and cover.

a theory that I rather like is that life originally developed on mars and was blasted to earth via asteroid impact throwing debris. Interesting stuff.
A shot for every time an adobe product is exploited. Of course, the morning after I tried this, I woke up left for dead in Guatemala...
The reason why it isn't is because that would be logical.

in my experience, it's used for most articles concerning rights, online or no.
but shouldn't this be under YRO?

So where's the link to the source code? I'd like to compile and test this video player.

e.g. people will bash him no matter what, or he's scum because he's a politician, take your pick.
lemme spell this out for you: P-o-l-i-t-c-i-a-n

no, a white dwarf is the burning cinder of a star. It is, for all intents and purposes, death.

or you could use only FLOSS applications...
