Of course Internet Applications are going to be big with consumers. I don't see why they wouldn't. They don't require installation, they don't crash, they don't take space on the harddrive and they're easier to use. This can be good to Linux. The more PHP or Zope apps we create, the better.
Yeah it's that easy but please don't say it too loud. I'm pretty sure that Compaq and Dell aren't looking for a lawsuit. If this happens, Compaq and Dell will blame it on Windows XP for making it easy to steal music and MS will blame Adaptec for providing the technology to Burn the music. Adaptec will blame it on the CD Recordables. Result, every CD Recordable you buy will cost you double.
Well looks like the day has come where I actually have to defend Apple's and Steve Jobs position.
I think that Apple and MS should audit Disney to see if they have all the required licenses. Thanks to proprietary software, we can have our sweet revenge:)
Very funny. So when people execute the virus, they'll have to wait for it to load and then have messages like "Please wait while executing the virus....Sending Message1...Sending Message2..."
The problem is that casual users will have trouble installing those options. Most people can't download the updates from windowsupdate.microsoft.com, you want them to be able to install the optional features?
Linux is for computer geeks while Windows is for all the others. I'm happy with this situation.
This has made Linux VERY attractive to me, while MS just seems to sit there saying "I know what you need, it's my newest $100 upgrade that won't change a thing." Of course, what this really means is "don't like the bugs? Too bad! Pony up or suffer!"
Actually there's plenty of new features. Of course those features won't change a thing for you because you're a student. But in business, those new features are a welcome addition to users and developers alike. You have no idea how some users are a pain in the ass just to have that little extra feature. They don't care if it slows down the app or not, they just freakin want it.
If he received the letter or not that shouldn't be the question. The question is, how could this kind of lawsuit stand in court? The judge should've laughed in their face and sent them back home.
PS: The opinions expressed above may not be mine and I can't assume there responsibility. So if anyone is considering suing me, please don't.
almost 1/2 your paycheck goes to income tax, employment insurance, and the Canada Pension Plan (which will by dry in 10-20 years)
In short, you'll always live confortably. But you'll never have that extra money you need.
only one airline, and man does it suck
And I believe it's got $4 billion in debts thanks to the government who wanted to boost the competition but failed.
yeah, ok - it's a little colder
Not to worry the pollution will take care of heating us up.
the healthcare system is spiralling downwards due to funding shortages passed onto the provinces from a sneaky federal government that wants to report a "surplus"
Quebec receives $4.79 billion in fundings out of the $10 billion. For some reason they still complain about money. British Columbia receives like $200 million out of those $10 billions.
Thanks to those great roads, you'll need a new car every few years.
Nobody is better at doing nothing than me. To prove my point; he's doing a show about him doing nothing while I'm doing nothing about me doing nothing.
What if the batteries run out? What if you break it? Aha.
maybe you, but if people cared as much about their privacy, security, etc. PGP would be much more popular.

good God what kind of connection do you have? T1?
You should read a letter than Linus wrote a few months ago.
The question is, will Big Foot and the Lochness Monster be on that list?

Patience now, once they grow up and mature, they'll produce terrific music. Can't say how much time it'll take them though :)

Those security issues existed since PHP 3.0, no you didn't have to wait months, more like years.
Sorry if I was a little rude.

You're so smart, where's your competing product?
how about all those PHP security issues?

Go with Win2k and MS Terminal Services. It's much faster than Citrix and, in my opinion, less complicated.
Since it's for educational purposes, you'll get a great price and you'll probably get the Windows source code if you ask for it.

Salaries are okay, if it wasn't for all the taxes I could've done way more with my salary.
Looks like the day when $lashdot costs more than M$ Windows is coming soon :)
I was going to say that it looks real ugly. But I guess some people have different (bad) tastes.
He didn't mention a date. So I predict that ESR prediction will come true within 40 years from now.
Does this mean that we can sue Apache? This article says that Apache and PHP have flaws. Come on guys, let's sue.

There, I beat him fair and square.
