Well he said it himself: http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/10/30/arar_031030

"A Canadian citizen deported by the U.S. to Syria has told federal officials that he was tortured while a prisoner in the Middle East, CBC News has learned."

Deporting other countries citizens, detaining people without charge and torture is anti-American yet the Bush administration seems to favor such things.

  3. worst things are happening on Deconstructing the Patriot Act PR Campaign · · Score: 1

Countries are pushed by the US administration to detain people without charge. A Canadian citizen was deported to Syria because the Canadian government refused to detain him. Syria also refused to detain him at first but after some pressure by the US they agreed and emprisoned him for a year, torturing and questioning him until they finally let him go. It's too bad, I'm sure Saddam would've done a better job at torturing that guy.

  14. War is violent not games on The State of Violent Gaming · · Score: 1

I lived for a few years in a country ravaged by war and that's what made me violent at the time. Heck if I didn't have a little compassion I would've tried to kill some people but instead I came to try some crazy suicidal stuff like yelling at soldiers to shoot me everytime I was pissed off. Then I started watching Jackie Chan movies and heck it was good fun that made all the war and violence a little lighter .

Then I lived in a peacefull country and within a year, most of the hatred, violence and rage that I had in me was gone and replaced by peacefull thoughts. I play lots of violent video games and watch lots of violent movies but does it desensitize me from real violence? Hell no. Does it make me a criminal? Hell no. Even after all the real dead people that I saw during a real war I still have a very hard time taking a look at victims of real violence. You can't get desensitized to such horrible stuff. Talk to war photographers and ask them if they're desensitized :) No matter how many actual dead corpses you see it's still horrible every single time. The only way I coped with it was to not look and act as if it doesn't exist.

I have yet to buy the PS2 online adapter though because I'm still waiting for them to come out with a good online game and the fact that the PS2 online games don't have voice chat is disappointing.

Apparently Mario Kart will be online enabled and if it gets good reviews then maybe I'll buy a GC just for it. Playing Mario Kart online will be great.

Read about Wilco and see what the major labels can do.

The RIAA looks out for the recording industry and the consumer looks out for himself. So I would go with the latter.

The better way is to stop bothering consumers with nonsense, lower the prices or offer something worthy (extra-content) on CD. Just a suggestion from someone who rarely even listens to music. I find myself buying more and more DVD's instead of renting movies. A good movie with extra content is worth purchasing.

It's scanning the whole network to see if I or anyone else is sharing and downloading any songs even though I have yet to do so. This slows down the network and punishes those of us who use Kazaa legitimately.
Can you imagine if everyone did the same as the RIAA? Can you imagine some people always patrolling your neighbourhood making sure there's nothing illegal around? It won't make you feel uncofortable?

But hey fucke'm, they'll be the ones loosing customers, oh they already are :)
