I highly doubt an iPhone has the capacity to hold a Single-lens Reflex mechanical action, nor has anyone every designed one. Do people even know what SLR means?
There is no mention of entropy or testing for randomness. 1.7 Gbits could be complete garbage because the entropy necessary for encryption isn't there.
Another thing to worry about while playing games. I'm already worried to death that Shamblers are going to get me, now I have to worry that the Shamblers can tell I'm worried. You've just given video games the ability to smell fear.
I understand that this is a freedom of speech issue, but I don't understand why anyone would care about this game. I've played all the Doom's and Quake's, but I have never understood games that just feel like true murder. I may be a bit biased after just recentlycoming back into the light after a 2.5 year WoW binge, but games like this are sick. Don't even get me started on the Saw and Hostel films, which are just overly promoted heights of a deeper sickening genre. What is wrong with people that find this entertaining?
Voice chat, a number of years back now, can now be blamed for brining testosterone gorillas into a video game arena where they can yell and scream expletives and homoerotic insults. Thank you voice chat for bringing the sweaty sporting event that I don't care about and it's attendees into my ears.
Cue the underground brilliance of every slashdot troll claiming that he is no less than a genius and nothing truly mental stimulating can be classified as difficult.
I totally understand why documentation is important, because I have to read it every day. No average user will EVER read it, regardless of it's existence. There should be no documentation necessary. I personally don't understand why Photoshop texts exist, if you click around enough you can figure out what you should do. But I digress, documentation is not the answer. The answer is MUCH BETTER driver support, better applications, zero flood of text across the screen at boot, INTEROPERABILITY!!!, all desktop class applications/configurations/system tools should have no connection to a command line ever. The kernel everyone loves is fine, the desktop will be broken for another 10 years at least.
FMD-ROMs were the wave of the future, what? 6 years ago? Promising to hold up to 140GB? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorescent_Multilaye r_Disc None of this kind of vaporware will ever see the light of day unless Sony or Microsoft wants it to.
I agree with what you say, but I would go even farther to say that the facial animation is absolutely awful. There is coherency between facial movement and audio. I couldn't even call this a technical achievement other than it was incredibly inexpensive to make, but at the cost of embarassing animation. Free software may make great pictures, but free animators are not worth the loss of quality.
I have nothing to say about the story, since there is none.
Once you get the glitter of open source eye candy (a glitter that only exists across an individual frame), you'll see this is very poor quality work.
I have never been able to bring myself to watch a single BSG episode. Aside from SG-1 modern dramatic sci-fi shows make me roll my eyes in disgust. I have no idea what a Caprica is, but I immediately thought of a combination of capsaicin (the spicy chemical compound found in chile peppers) and of course paprika (your mom's favorite chile pepper seasoning). This show sounds delicious! *sigh* Another hardcore fan only space ship drama. I'll eat later.
I must have had a very different experience with cursive than everyone else.
At my private school, cursive was taught and enforced from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Typing Class began in 3rd grade. Both were taught, and both have an important place in life. Most kids hanging around in here wouldn't be caught dead with out some form personal digital data entry device, but analog writing methods are called for in certain occasions. Most people would seem to default to printing, I never learned printing, of course it's possible, but I have to write something down, it ends up being cursive.
Cursive was emphasized for "speed", not that it's any faster, but you only pick up your pen in between words (duh). Some people in here hell bent on spewing ignorance want to abolish writing. Being the incredible nerd I am, that would be t0t4lly 1337, but please...not even close to feasible.
Cursive just makes for pretty words; calligraphy does the same. It's sad to see that once literacy is spread amongst the masses, the once beautiful art of writing is just as soon taken for granted.
Last year, my Junior year of High School, I took AP Computer Science I, and I am taking AP Computer Science II next year. C++ is an incredible language. Never really messing with Java, my impressions are that it's quite bloated. Yes, it's great that it can run on almost any platform, but like other comments have said, what good does that do you when you are trying to learn how a computer works, "thinks", and interprets the commands we give it. My second hand knowledge of Java makes it look like it does most of the work for you, to me at least. I may be wrong, but who cares at this point. Teach C++.
I feel like I'm a prime example of what this article says doesn't happen(strange sentence). For years, I didn't talk to anyone, but a recent change in my life(not using computers as much) has caused me to be more social. I feel more intelligent because of it. Computers made me uncreative. You posted that you've,"(never met any of these, no sir)". Well, hello, I am your first.

The tinfoil hat wearing members of PETA won't stand for such sea kitten torture and distress!

A better metric of measurement would be 9.3 million Hiroshimas.
MegaTF is what made Team Fortress great. TFC was a breaded and fried bastardization (simplification) of one my all time favorite games.

I brought enough for everyone.
