The main place where these guys got screwed was when they had the settlement, they can only work like 200 days, and then they cannot work for the company for 100 days. (I may not be exacly right on those numbers). It is really messy. I had a lot of former coworkers go and work in Redmond only to run into this brick wall. MOst of them thoguht they were doing well escaping ISP support hell.
Now I am a little more free market than the next guy, but that kinda messed up.
Granted if you get hired on full time over there it is a pretty sweet gig if you can hack it.
True, Buckaroo kicked much butt, but I didn't get to see that until it was on cable.
To tell you the honest truth, I wouldn't be that surprised to see either of those stars in the next Star Wars, as it has inflated to more of a mainstream movie than anything else I can think of. That still won't stop me from going to see the next one.
Back to the future brought the concept of Time travel to a mainstream audience. The movie is inherently geeky. It has the geeky skater kid. Geeky dad. Geeky professor with a Delorean. It has garage science!
And while I agree with you that it isn't stand out Sci Fi, but for the time (1985) it was a reasonably good mainstream SciFi movie and I think it had at least a little bit of bearing on my own personal devlopment as a geek (as well as other geeks of our era). It wasn't all Star Wars.
We are a more diverse group of individuals than you may think.
Most of us, I am sure, have movie intrests that stem beyond the 4 series you mentioned. Besides, have you seen the trash the first two have put out recently(rheotorical)?
You might surprised how much money your government spends is subsidies to feed you. I know in the US we have a lot of subsidies which keep the cost of food down and our farmers in business.
I may check it out eventually. I don't usually read newsgroups, except on things that I confirm true, such as how to accomplish a task using Perl, but even then I find it is easier to just search the web. I tend not to deal in anything that would be considered "news" without the anti-bs goggles.
I barely trust people who make a living on knowing what they are talking about.
Maybe I don't understand the underlying concept, but it sounds kinda like a big game of telephone.
Also what good is a source that cannot be identified outright? How will this get us unfiltered news when the you have to filter everything (in your head) for truth or logic?
If I miss the point please explain as this has piqued my interest.
Just think of all the money you could save on creams and salves, not to mention the mental anguish of thinking about baseball or Bea Arthur in a bikini by merely generating your own packet loss.

a tree falls alone
in this forest no one cares
no shortage of leaves
Meh, I was young and I needed the money.
I did the dishes.
My parents wanted to raise us with a sense of what money was worth.
Ick, that looks like the old Arcade Version of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
I guess nothing is sacred.
I also guess I have to lose a knotch of my gamers chit.
...but I could never stay alive long enough to rationalize spending 50 whole cents on it.
I was 8 years old, that was about 1/4 of my weekly income.
I would probably have never checked it out anyway, as I ignored the remakes of Pac Mac, Frogger and Donkey Kong, games which I played often and loved.
Though if someone decides to do a version of Pitfall I may have to sway a bit.
Well I thought it was funny. :-)

Crispen Glover owns your soul.
I kinda take offence to that, as I myself am a contrator. Maybe Apple need to treat their contractors better or hire better contrators.
Fine, spend more on counting nukes.

Their money is probably better spent feeding their people and counting their nukes at this point anyway.
Thank you for your insight.

"The 'solution' from MS in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS02-065 recommends that you remove MS from the list of Trusted Publishers."
That is solid GOLD.
It is poetic justice that Microsoft's own measures for security are working against them.
Roll down 90 till you get to Vantage or George. Weather.com says it looks clear there now.
It's much faster than going south, and you have a better chance at seeing them.
If I didn't have to work tomorrow....
I have not got enough slack, my brother....
Yesterday was beautiful and I was hopeful but today is looking pretty crappy.
Damn Washington weather is depriving me of the show of a lifetime.
On a better note I will get a full nights sleep.
I prefer telegraphed, but what do I know. I am not a cynical anonymous coward. :-)
lol

Porn Stocks Skyrocket!
And that would be true, but at least I can sign my name.
