It would be much faster to use microwaves to go from city to city rather than use satellites. It's much faster to from one point to another rather than point to satellite to other point.
The problem was that the US, and other countries, have moved away from sending people out to gather intelligence first hand and have placed their trust in technology to gather it for them. It's a poor substitute because it can't understand the people that you are trying to gather information about. It doesn't get the nuances in messages that only two people who know one another or are from the same culture would understand.
I'm really not trying to troll but am curious about the outlook of US citizens. It seems that many people, at least on here, are in favour of having their local government act as an ISP. I find this attitude so weird because there is such a reluctance to move to a government backed health care system, even one that is only funded by the government and provided by private firms. So why is government health care socialism and bad while government internet access good?
The train between Ottawa and Toronto takes about 4.5 hours while the bus is about 6. The train costs about 1.5 times more but it is way more comfortable and relaxing than the bus. The train in Canada and the US are similar. While I would like a high speed option I'd take the train over the bus every time. And if going from downtown to downtown the airplane is more than twice as expensive with the time working about the same with the travel to/from the airports and waiting for the flight.
Start filing suits against them for every little thing that is a violation and don't settle. Bury them in paperwork. This image on your website doesn't have an alt tag so it doesn't comply with ADA. Lawsuit. The fluorescent lights in your office flicker and cause me migraines. Another lawsuit. Anything and everything you can think of.
For some jobs you can eliminate the person that goes along with the truck. For example when the truck is making deliveries to warehouses or stores and there are people there that can load or offload what is needed. When you have lots of small deliveries or need a task done at each spot then you still need someone or people to go along with the truck. Say a furniture delivery business or a moving company. But they can find people easier since they wouldn't need to have someone with a special license anymore.
Please, you walk away and when you hear it boil you go back to the kitchen and turn down the heat. Set a timer and forget about it. I've made rice many times that way and it comes out great. The only reason to get a rice cooker would be to be able set it on a timer to have it ready if I wanted it ready when I got home. But I don't need that so cooking it in a pot works great for me.
I've got a Breville that does this. You can choose the size of the cup to make, the strength of the coffee, and how long to brew it or if you want to make more coffee then you can choose how full to fill the carafe and what strength. It grinds the beans as it needs them. And the carafe keeps the coffee warm for a couple of hours because it's so well insulated.
You're doing it wrong. Put everything in a pot, put the lid on, it goes on the stove on high, once it starts to boil you turn the heat down, and let it sit for the amount of time (depends on if you are making white or brown rice). Take the lid off and fluff with a fork.
Turn off the radio and go find some indie musicians of whatever genre you like. There are some awesome bands out there making music but because they aren't with a big label they don't get the exposure they deserve. CBC Radio 3 (though it has radio in the name it's an Internet/Sirius channel) features Canadian indie bands. I've found a lot of great artists on there. There's an iPhone/iPad app called Band of the Day. I found my favourite band of all through there last fall. I haven't listened to the normal radio in years and I haven't missed it at all.
You keep on hearing on how people are abusing the 911 system with stupid calls. Doesn't matter if it with a NSI phone or not. Maybe they should start laying down some hefty fines, community service, or even some jail time (on weekends or when the person isn't working so that they don't lose their job) for the abuses and maybe people will get the idea that 911 is for emergencies. Then you won't have people calling because someone put ketchup on their burger.
Of course it gets better. They will use this fee to lower their income to reduce the taxes owed and they will just charge more for their plans to recoup the fees in the longer term. If you want to stop companies from doing this type of stuff then you have to hold the management and executives accountable. Get warrants, find out who authorizes these programs (though in cases like this where it's pretty much public knowledge you can go after the board for not stopping the practice at least), and at a minimum apply huge fines to them. Plus you have the law set up that the company is not allowed to reimburse the fines. Could be difficult to prove unless the company was stupid about it.
Fining the company just means that those fees are going to be passed on to the customers. Do you really think that the shareholders are going to get a lower dividend to pay for them?
That's okay, all your devices have connected to your neighbour's poorly configured open network and have been sending your private information to the world for years now.
Well, in this case you are making a molecule and not an alloy to get the change in properties. However I wouldn't worry about the Magnesium burning up because it is in an alloy like you were trying to demonstrate. For an example of how properties can change take a look at copper and tin. They are both very easy to shape but combine them together you get bronze which is very tough.
Sure, I can say that I made predictions about earthquakes two years ago. I'd be impressed if they said today that in 10 days that there would be a magnitude 7.5 in a specific area and be right.
Wondering why nobody puts some freight onto the high speed lines. I would think that the courier companies would like an hourly train leaving between major cities instead of flying all of their parcels. The costs wouldn't be that much since you would have to build the track for the passenger service so it would just be the incremental costs for the service. Of course passenger traffic would have the right of way which would be the opposite of traditional rail service in North America. I'm not suggesting that it would be for containers running across the continent (though that would be an interesting experiment).
So what do all those people flying from one place to another in the US do? If you need to drive in your destination then you'll just rent a car like you would have if you flew.
You say that as if the unions cared about anyone other than the unions. I was in one while working for the government and when they were going to terminate me to prevent me from going from temporary to permanent due to the length of my employment (something completely against the law) the response from the union was that they could do what they wanted. Glad my $600 a year in union dues was going for something useful.
In my suburb a lot of the homes are of the age that the roofs need replacement and I've seen many different companies installing them. You can tell a lot about the various companies by how they work. They cheap companies take every shortcut and are about doing the most number of roofs during the season. You can see the guys up on the roof as the sun is going down. I'm talking the last part of the sun is visible against the horizon. Plus none of their workers are tied up against falls. No wonder they get hurt. The more expensive companies are cleaned up by the time you need to turn your car headlights on and always have their workers tied up.
Canada had a microwave network across the nation by the end of the 1950s.

You're forgetting that it's not discrimination if it's against white males.

Vancouver is a great city. Welcome to Canada. Bring your friends!
And all are in Hell right now because they followed the wrong god. It's Thor you're supposed to follow!

They kept the surface area constant between the shapes.
You can insult them in English but must include a French translation which has to be in a visibly larger font.
