    mpg isn't clear about efficiency. l/100km is. if a car has double the efficiency then the L/Km gets doubled. not the same is valid for mpg. because when going from 10mpg to 20mpg is not the same as from 20mpg to 30mpg

    let's be realistic here. the s-300 are defensive Surface to Air missiles. Even if we accept that somehow assad would give them to hezbollah, i highly doubt that hezbollah ( or assad ) have the scientific / technological know-how to transform them to surface-to-surface missiles.

    the only part i would disagree with is the "Palestine was a Jewish region of the Ottoman Empire and 'Palestinians' meant Jewish dhimmis in the Palestine region". The Jews in Palestine at the time were only about 16% of the population. The rest were arabs.

    frakking excellent news. For some time now the bottleneck has been in the memory bandwidth, not in the cpu/gpu processing power. This will help a lot problems like raytracing/pathtracing which are memory bound.

    p.s. for some time now I've been trying to find again a .pdf file ( which I had found in the past, but lost it somehow ) with detailed explanations and calculations on the memory and flops requirements of raytracing, and how memory bandwidth is very low for such problems

    you have no idea what you're talking about. the asterisk just says that any kind of ethics/moral is subjective, meaning that you can't really say that moral system A is better than moral system B, the "best" is the one you choose to believe in.

    That is in no way related to my first point, the reasons why one follows his particular moral system. So just because you follow moral code A, you can't necessarily be called a moral guy according to moral code A. Why ? Because you may be following moral code A not out of your free will and judgement but because you fear that if you don't, the invisible guy in the sky will send you to hell. So no you are not a moral guy just because you follow the moral rules of moral system A.

    (such as history, sociology etc.) gives the potential to people to truly CHOOSE to be moral* or not. You can't be called a moral guy just because you obey 3 thousand year old myths because you are afraid of the bearded man in the sky. People who "are" good because of their religion are in fact immoral people who just pretend to be good under fear.

    * whatever moral means for anyone, since morality/ethics are purely subjective.

    slashdot has always posted significant political news stories. Now, i'm not sure this is important, but could be if it was used as an excuse for a military intervention in syria by the west.
