    If I remember correctly there was firm makes satellite recivers using with Linux. That box do same thing like this machine. It support NFS (Record or playback) also higher model has build in hdd support. Of course it had Satellite and TV inputs...

    Man, look latest Tech Show reports, if we call this thing a media center pc, they laugh us with other than mouth...

They sunk, after that Dec rose, with their uber VMS VAX machines with backdoor. Long before google ther was altavista which developed by Dec. After sunk of Dec, Microsoft rose. And guess what, another backdoor.

    Solid State is absolute way.

    I use NDS, I use AD and can't use Open LDAP successfully. Every year I try to setup for somting and I fail. Probably thats my fault.

    Last time I just create OpenLDAP server for shared Outlook address book. And I fail to find a good manager for it.

    I hope that Fedora DS server may fix that situation.

    Oracle requires lots of attention to work. (O course if nobody touces it will work for ages) Any misuse may halt entire db.

    Anyhow, I'm not sure that kind of movements stops even slows MySql and PostgreSQL.

    And this kind of movements shows us FEAR...

    Even DB giant Oracle was fear from MySql and Posgre SQL

    So avarage joe sixpack has start to internet, customize the page, and he was check daily because that page show him what he wants. Not search tons of page or remember tons of url or worry about his bookmarks.

    Of course this is not big deal for us.

    Because, before the invetion of Mp3 there was a double casette decks, these devices able to copy one casette to another. Also you can mix different songs in one casette.

    88 million is not RECORDED, I believe only 20 million is original others just empty casettes.
    And of course there was a casette Piracy around here. Also lots of car audio based on casettes.

    And I believe this 88 million info is old. Hell we just sell 2 milion news papers per day how can we sell 88 million casettes. Maybe that casettes export to other countries.
