The historical trend that this claim is based on is actually the softwart to hardware price ratio. It used to be something like 2% of your costs were software based. They now sit around 20% if you are being fairly utilitarian. What Bill actually said was misinterprted a bit: 'In comparison to what Windows will cost your hardware will be virtually free' He then went on to claim 'We'll be gouging you so much for a license, the times square monitors will look reasonable'
Some disruptions could be found in technology evolution. An upward shift in address take up rates because of an inability of NATs to support emerging popular applications is a possibility. The use of personal mobile IP devices (such as PDAs in their various formats) using public IPv4 addresses would place a massive load on the address space, simply due to the very large volumes associated with deployment of this particular technology.
The push for IPv6 does not look as though it will come from the growth that we have seen so far. It will come from the multitude of ip consuming devices that are poised to enter the market. VoIP anyone?
Or maybe just because no one can stop thinking about what it would be like to be a young girl named Lain?
to hear someone use a sentence that compares frontpage and dreamweaver as though the two products were even close to the same level. If you are rivaling frontpage, than you are not rivaling dreamweaver. If you are rivaling dreamweaver, then don't compare your product to frontpage.
It's like the gimp crew putting out that the gimp is like microsoft paint.
Besides, these things are already out there. I think that the best one that I found was Bluefish. It doesn't rival dremveaver, but it blows frontpage out of the water.

Bluefish is a powerful editor for experienced web designers and programmers. Bluefish supports many programming and markup languages, but it focuses on editing dynamic and interactive websites.
Other have already pointed out the NBD solution, so I wil not repeat it here, what I would like to ask is; why?
It would be much easier for you to put four 120Gig IDE drives in one of your eight computers and use a real RAID setup. I have a dual 60gig that holds all of my home direcotries and all of my mp3's, and that in itself is enough for me.
Set yourself up a RAID-5 so that the performance is not dismal and you will be set. Hardware IDE RAID is really cheap now, or you could go with a software solution if you don't have very intensive data writes.
Yet even more unfortunately, purchasing anything from a major music label makes me feel really really dirty anymore. I have stopped buying CD's altogether.
Before you ask, no I have not replaced my CD purchasing with mp3 downloading, from itunes or anywhere else. I have a moderately large (if now aged a bit)collection of CD's that have all long since been transfered to a RAIDed 60Gb file server.
What this was probably supposed to do was start an electric car market and begin to remove the stigma around eletric cars. Electric vehicles are usually perceived as having less range and less power than their gas guzzling alternatives. This is about making it so that people arent put off by the lack of a noisy, loud, combustion engine.
Car manufaturers put a lot of effort into tuning an engine so that it sounds powerful. Engines could be quieter, but people want to "hear their horsepower". This is also done with vaccum cleaners. It is all about changing the american veiwpoint of the world.
Cars with an average of 25 mpg get about 25% efficiency. Old power plants do around 30-35%. Newer ones get up to 60%. In addition to the the possibility of these being replaced with wind/solar/hydroelectric/nuclear
The hardware discounts are nothing to laugh at, but the software discounts are really impressive. I purchased Panther (two more days) for 69.99, when it retails for 129.00.
Only part of the problem of traffic is a jammed area, there are many other causes, including but not limited to, bad drivers, stupid rivers, too many drivers, bad weather.
All of these things are something that cannot be remedied by an interactive system, which would prove to be less and less helpful as more ofthem were adopted.
This certainly would help in avoiding accidents, but at rush hour, sometimes it doesn't matter.
Mac-world, while not really un-biased, did a thing on the durability of iBooks quite awile ago. I would not imagine that things have gotten any worse since then.
In addition to that, having been the guy that fixes coumputers at a sorority for over three years now, I would say that iBooks have a much high ability to absorb shock. I dropped mine from my knees onto a hardwood floor (onto it's corner) and it never stopped playing the dvd.

Anything that turns off word for anything, much less *html editing* can't be that bad.
A playa hater.
> there is no other player which plays their media
Whatever you feel of their supposed code nazi attitudes; mplayer plays almost everything.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I don't have a sig.
How can people see this? Isn't it too close too focus on?

The top speed of the t-zero is actually 100 mph. It is in big bold lettering on the home page.
3000$ was the number that thay were quoting for the lead-acid.

Suprise: the digital format that was designed to be as close to raw data is the best sounding!
Suprise: Apple makes hardware that works very well and is pretty!
Suprise: The smallest sleekest most expensive gadget was chosen as a favorite!
It is not the most portable (as far as doorstops go). But boy does it work.
and ALWAYS wear your tin foil hat.
Screw business networks?
No, no you got it all backwards.

here is some non-anecdotal evidence.
