its kinda sad that before laptops can get to a point where they're just as upgradeable as pc's, we have to get to the point where theres too many discarded ones.

I'd second that. Though aspects of Canada's laws are 'slightly' outdated. For example the tariff on cd's - i seldom use cd's for much other than burning a copy of a linux distro.

Now, if they put the tariff on ipods/mp3 players/media enabled phones it might work better with the times. People wont appreciate the cost though.

my buddy tore the guy a couple new holes, and we ended up getting 10 bucks from the guy to go away.
AFTER we paid admission and got to stand around in a line for 10 minutes, some chubby security guards came and asked us to leave the park.. when we demanded a refund they regurgitated some shitty policy about not giving refunds to "unruly patrons"..
still having the stamps on our hands, we just went through a different entrance and got a couple hours out of the place before driving back.
there are usually free unlimited refills on large bags of popcorn up here. My buddy and I often sneak into a room right after a movie ends and snag a bag or two, dump it out and get a refill. Then after, leave it lying around near the entrance of our movie for anyone doing the same. Mngmt hasn't caught on yet.
When they charge upwards of 5 bucks (CDN) for a small popcorn with butter, there aren't a lot of options.
A Large Grey Area has just appeared in the land between Notebooks and Netbooks. Neither side have commented yet, and both seem hesitant to lay claim to this grey area.
A company, Google, has claimed responsibility for creating this large grey area. In a press conference earlier today, the company made some comments about "not being evil" and "don't worry".
The first migrants to this area are already en route, and are slated to arrive before the year is out.
