I think you're just lumping all the right wing concepts into one pot and calling it the Tea Party. It would be like calling all democrats homosexuals. Also, a true conservative republican wouldn't approve at all of the Patriot Act, for exactly the same reason they oppose Obamacare.

    Hello AC.

Every state issues IDs that are not also a drivers license. This is necessary for many other things than just voting. How else would these disenfranchised people you mention board an airplane or cash a check? Having a state issued identification is a simple and easy requirement for voting. This is not singling out or excluding any demographic.

Who cares if the VA card is federally issued? So is my DoD badge, and I can't use that as ID for voting. Elections are state run. And every active military or veteran I know wouldn't ever for for a democrat.

I think someone should have to either pay taxes, run a business, or own property to be able to vote. It's really easy to vote to spend someone else's money when you don't have any skin in the game.

There's a range for optimum fertility, and the cave man in me knows exactly what it is. Emaciated fashion models aren't likely to produce healthy offspring. Obese women will have more difficulty conceiving. If a woman wants to know what a man is attracted to, put down the Victoria's Secret catalog and look at a mens magazine. Those models are not skinny!

My wife is pregnant and starting to show it and my inner cave man thinks she's so HOT!

Thanks for the "self-propelled coat-hanger" quote. I'm using that next time I see her browsing a fashion catalog.

Remember Chatter Telephone in Toy Story 3? It was a CGI plastic rotary telephone on wheels, and it had more personality than ANY character in the new Star Wars movies. So, yeah, if they'd replaced all the Star Wars CGI with models, it still would have sucked just as much.

Other nations with socialized health care also fix prices. Whether that's right or wrong (it's wrong), that is not the objective of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). It is simply pumping more money into the system. Just like what student loans have done to tuition prices, pumping money in without solving the problem will just make health care more expensive than it already is.

Why? Because insurance will cover it.

If insurance covered catastrophic illness only, people would have the incentive to shop around for general care and find the best value for their money. Doctors would have the incentive to compete among each other for price and value.

  25. Re:Wrong on Should Composting Be Mandatory In US Cities? · · Score: 1

I think they inflate those charges for the non-insured because they know they're not getting paid anyways and they can write off the losses from their income. If you tell a provider up front that you're not insured and you'll be paying in cash, they'll give you the same rate they give to insurance companies. But you do need to tell them up front.

Also, the in-network vs. out-of-network arrangement does bring in extra business to a provider willing to negotiate a discount with an insurance company, so it's in both parties best interest.
