So you've never had an XP machine bluescreen from a flaky video driver? My work PC does it fairly regularly. Since they moved the video drivers to userspace this isn't even possible on Vista. Stability, not just security.

And I'm sure the folks at EA will just LOVE supporting every permutation of every Linux distribution out there or listening to the loud BAWWWWWW noise when they only support 3 major distros.
I dented an oak table and I think I broke my little finger with a Wiimote. I put the batteries back in and it works just fine. The finger stopped throbbing after about 3 days. The table still has a gash. I didn't pick up the spare. Wiimote > meat.
Sometimes its hard to follow execution, especially in a large codebase. Its made even more difficult when a smug jackass wrote it to be as terse as possible.
Last time I seriously tried Ubuntu (6.10 IIRC) it wouldn't associate with my WPA secured wireless network without installing WPA supplicant, completely breaking the wifi GUI bits, and re-writing the network scripts. About a month ago I popped a Gutsy disk into my new PC and was not able to get native resolution for my 16:10 LCD and gave up right there. I have better things to do with my time than rewrite my X config file.
I've used Linux in the past, I started on Slackware 3.4 and used it for a really long time, so I am not afraid of a command line or GUI differences, but my time is more valuable to me now. I don't WANT to have to mess with it to have really basic things work.

Turn off thumbnail generation. The DRM is only used for playback of protected files.
I just looked through the article. DRM and "digital rights" searches both turned up nothing. What the hell are you talking about?
It installs separately in Windows, too. I think someone is doing it wrong.
If you had important things to do on your computer, why did you go out of your way to install an unreleased service pack? Do you enjoy pain?
Get off my lawn. Also, slow down, cowboy.

Micro$oft? Did you come up with that on your own? Hilarious! I'll have to remember it.
lolwut?
They blamed me personally for not upselling birthday parties when they closed the one I worked at here in the US.
Would it be too much to ask to add a "Vista Bashing" section so I can filter this crap but still see other Windows stories?

Satellite's latency is horrible. Light isn't nearly as fast as it seems.
Yeah, that UAC is so much more irritating than having to type my root password in Linux... oh, wait... ITS EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME THING.

Yep, a 3d cartoon dog is much lighter and more useful than a bare textbox. I agree 1000%
Get AIDS and die, and your little fanboy friends, too. I was refuting the assertion that this type of UI is useless.
Does anyone want to buy a 4 digit UID, cheap?
In Vista I mash the Windows key and type firefox. I got into that habit VERY quickly.
Lakehurst Mall, c1983, Aladdin's Castle. My father picked me up so I could reach the controls on a Frogger machine.
The MS provided CPU gauge uses a bunch of CPU on its own. There are better third party ones out there.

I don't know why fark would want NSFW, anyway. Advertisers don't like that crap and we all know it.

Tell my PS2 that.
That sounds about right. That guy was a posting machine.
